you do have several point in there but I just don't get why a "veteran" player is so bothered by hildibrand questline. Tribal quest with joking content is nothing new, have you never done Namazu, the Dwarves, or Moogles, all tribes have different content one being cheeky isn't the death of the world.

I would have liked something that was more of a time investment personally. As it stands I will show up and get my first one free due to being capped on Astronomy and just get new ones as I do roulettes which isn't much additional effort honestly. I had at the very least expected "Go do variant dungeons X amount of times" or something. Guess my grind this patch will be the only gated by time beast tribe reward.

The "grind" will likely start with the next patch, or at least that's what I'm assuming. I just don't know if they will start off slow and easy like they did with Shadowbringers, or if they will go all in and make me question my very existence like they did at points during the ARR and HW grind. I'm guessing slow and easy with how many people actually participated in the Bozja grind. It clearly worked.

I think I am now thorougly burned out of FFXIV. I wasn't really paying attention prior to yesterday for a patch, and have been playing a variety of other things in the meantime, when I found out there was a patch I was kind of exhausted to think about it. I like the idea of the new dungeons, but I don't think I can get myself to try and prog it anytime in the near future, and while I was wanting to start my relic weapons for my DPS and WHM, I don't think I really want to do the same old for that either right now. I will do the event for the glamour, then maybe I might actually let my sub go for at least a month if I can.

Unfortunately too many players likely complained about relic grind, but in turn with easing up the grind theyve made the weapon beyond useless in most current content. Personally rather they bring back the grind if it ment getting back a weapon close to or on par with aug tome/raid weapons throughout the majority of the expansion and not just the final step.

jokes on you guys because the first step has always been this easy:

1. ARR:

Do the chimera
Do a few dungeons
Slay so mobs
Do a few trials
spend 15 poetics

1. Heavensward

About 12 fates, 6 if you are very lucky.
OR turn your Zodiac weapon if you are some kind of maniac

1. Stormblood

They actually gave the first step in the job quest, so it's basically free, just level your job

1. Shadowbringer

a bunch of quests introducing Bozja + 1000 poetics (which is kinda like ARR if you think about it but it's not locking you in specific content).
you don't even have to enter bozja to get it anyway.


so yea guys, first step of relic always been easy.

This is the equivalent of the Bozja weapons' first step, which was a Poetics spender. The time for grinding will come, it just doesn't seem to be coming this patch. 5.25 also only gave us that, Skysteel tools and Memoria Misera.
