Bring Mikoto Jinba into the MSQ

The problem is, she's an NPC associated exclusively with a raid series, so SE would have to mandate the Ivalice raids/Bozja content in order to implement her into the main scenario, and, given how the last time they did that with G'raha and the Crystal Tower (with the backlash and complaints from new players not understanding why they have to do this content), I don't see SE doing this again I'm sorry to say.

Krile though is invested in the Eureka story, so while I imagine the Ivalice raids would become required, I don't know if they'd feel obligated to do that for Bozja. Sure it's a little odd if you go back and do Bozja that the game tries to give you a "she's gonna die" fake out when you know she's perfectly fine in level 100+ MSQ stuff, but that kinda happens to a lesser degree with Krile. Not saying I find it likely she'll join the main characters, just that I don't think Bozja would be seen as required if they ever did. Mikoto would likely just not bring it up in the MSQ.

It's kind of funny that I know perfectly well who Mikoto is, but putting a last name on her gave me that brief "Who?" moment

I also developed some disinterest in her after how horribly handled her suddenly introduced Echo abilities were in Bozja and don't want to see any more of that "absolute future" nonsense.

Could be a bit interesting since the game has dropped some hints about Azem having some sort of future sight, so maybe we could learn to tune our Echo to that. Though we seem to have completely forgotten what Venat taught us, so unlikely.

I liked her fine until they introduced her frankly bs Echo future vision. While her exact character type doesn't have an equivalent in the current cast, at the end of the day she's another scholarly type, of which there are... more than enough I think we can agree?

She chose to press on in Bozja despite having seen a vision of her own "death" so I like her very much for her courage. I hope to see more of her, especially of her relationship with her sister. I don't think she needs to be shoehorned in the MSQ though, Krile already fulfills her role and is here to stay according to interviews.

In all seriousness, I've thought about 'what if she were a main character' before myself. Her echo is interesting and could be used to enhance certain conflicts in the future story, though it could also be used in very annoying ways too. I don't really like the Bozja example, as it basically forced an element of tension that didn't really feel natural, nor did how we or anyone handled that information make any sense given the stakes.

I agree, she'd work well as a major character in the main story going forward. Perhaps replacing Alphinaud as our deuteragonist (2ndary main character) with her going forward? Having another Echo user with an opposing Echo (future instead of past) would be interesting. Though I'd suggest upgrading/retconning part of her Echo so her visions have tells that something is set in stone, or has the ability to be changed. But do not do something as stupid as they did in Bozja with it.

The problem is how you do the power. You can have foresight and STILL have things be interesting without revealing everything. If you've ever seen an episode of That's So Raven, you can understand how seeing the future can cause problems on its own to mess with things. Like how in one episode it started a fight that almost destroyed the friendship before the vision finally came true at the end. We knew what the end result would be, but the trip there was completely unseen, as was the actual end. "I saw it right, read it wrong."

As much as I love Matsuno's work, if a character was brought over from the Ivalice storyline then I'd much prefer it be someone who isn't just yet another scholar. We have far too many as it stands.
