Letting characters bow out and exit with grace was like they did back in Heavensward with Ysayle and Haurchefaunt was one of the better aspects of the kind of storytelling we enjoyed in that era.

I agree. I think that era mostly ended when Y’shtola survived Zenos’ slash. Although they weren’t main character material, the fate of Ysayle, Haurchefant, Papalymo put a lot of stakes in the story back then (I'm ignoring Conrad and Meffrid as they had next to no screen-time).

But SE can't kill any of the "good guy" characters, they probably fear the community response and they know how vile it can be

That and merchandising. Some characters are too big to do away with for sure.

Absolutely. With Vrythra, we finally have a race other than Midlanders, Miqos, Elezens and Lalafells in the party (barring our OC WoL). Of course, it feels like they had to rectify that with adding Zero to it haha /s.

He's the only living Allagan royal blood person alive. The Allagan empire has been a big part of the story throughout from the beginning of 2.0 and Meracydia is the main Allagan Empire area which we will be going into...

True, but it's not like they couldn't have conjured something up to help us interact with Allag stuff (as they've done many times before). But I hope you see what I meant story beat-wise.

I get what you mean. I feel that most of the Scions' character arcs, mostly Thancred's, Urianger's and the Twins', have been explored completely and were tied neatly in EW. Hopefully they take a bigger back-seat in this story, and continue to focus on the new blood.

I'm not a particularly huge fan of G'raha either and I've had some...very unpleasant encounters with his more devout fans

I was actually hesitant to make this thread for this exact reason. I didn't know the pulse of the community concerning him. I only knew he has the biggest Stans out of all the characters.
