While I'm inclined to agree with you in part -- the "in part" being that I don't think the fourth fight's music feels like Imamura to me, but rather a Soken-created mashup of several other musical lietmotifs -- I would note that I've sometimes been surprised by tracks that genuinely were Soken; he's surprisingly versatile, style-wise.
But yes, Imamura has a specific style, and while I would not be surprised to find Soken can compose in the same style, I do suspect you're correct.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is a good way until the actual soundtrack comes out... and maybe not even then.
I can't speak for the versions in, say, the iTunes store or whatever, but if you order the Japanese Blu-Ray soundtrack (e.g., the "BD-Music" format disc), the digital audio files do (usually) have full metadata. And while they seem to give the 'artist' field to the conductor -- which is thus Soken, because so far as I know he does conduct the recording sessions -- the individual tracks do (again: usually) have the composer field filled out properly.
Like, if you look at the Shadowbringers soundtracks, "Alien Manifestation" (from the NieR raids) shows the composer as "Keiichi Okabe, Keigo Hoashi", while "Eternal Wind" shows the composer as "Nobuo Uematsu", etc.
Unfortunately, they are not always 100% on the ball; there are some tracks on some soundtrack volumes missing the composer data. Moreover -- with the apparent exception of Uematsu, who presumably gets special dispensation -- if someone does a re-arrangement of a track, it seems to be that composer who gets the credit on the album. And Soken does do cleanup/final tweaks on a lot of tracks, so...
Like I said, it's not a 100% way to get an answer on who did the track.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

All i have to say is the music in new dungeon last boss and P5n-P8n is banging !
This is the best patch in quite some time. The MSQ was great, the armor sets are incredible, the fights are super fun, and that FFIV boss remix has been stuck in my head for days. Well done devs!
I loved the music as well, been listening non stop yesterday! I do wonder who the singer is, I dont think its the same lady singing flow but Im not quite sure...Ah damn now I must listen to flow, that song is gold.

love how it uses reflect
but, technically, it's after and before midnight every time! D:
the hell do you expect in a forum? all of us to agree with every decision ever made, throw logic out the window and sing happy songs on how all content is great and if you dont agree your a hater loser wow refugee? If you need that type of caustic echochambering go to reddit. Im here to debate and argue that your game sucks and has the potential to be better, always

Spoilers but MSQ is interesting, though that begs the question as to why Exarch spent a ungodly amount of time and power trying to summon us to the first when we casually just walk in and out of the thirteenth like its a mall. Im hooked on the thirteenth as a world buuuuut SE aint sly, I see you minimize the content. We used to get a separate story arch for the trials now weve regressed way back into ARR where its part of MSQ, not sure if I like getting less content but a trial is a trial. Dungeon unceremoniously sucks ass like a airplane toilet
