I'm not OP, but the other person who didn't like it.
It's not about being forced to dance, as such, it's being forced to do a thing in front of an audience looking for gratification.
If anything, it undermined the "you should find this place distasteful and a show of Eulmore's corruption" vibe that it seemed to be setting up beforehand, because (from memory) it's played as the guy encouraging us to do it for fun, and our character seems to do it willingly. It seems an odd sort of tonal whiplash to have it play out like that.
