I'm not OP, but the other person who didn't like it.

It's not about being forced to dance, as such, it's being forced to do a thing in front of an audience looking for gratification.

If anything, it undermined the "you should find this place distasteful and a show of Eulmore's corruption" vibe that it seemed to be setting up beforehand, because (from memory) it's played as the guy encouraging us to do it for fun, and our character seems to do it willingly. It seems an odd sort of tonal whiplash to have it play out like that.

There was an underlying purpose to the dance, if memory serves, that helped further the overarching goal. If you ask me, seeing the depravity of Eulmore first hand like that made its eventual redemption all the more rewarding.

Heroes must sometimes do things they find deplorable to reach a conclusion everyone can live with, even if they themselves never quite feel right after the experience. The WoL is guilty of atrocities to put even the worst villains to shame at this point. They have done and enabled some unspeakably hideous things, and it's likely future storylines will demand further compromises on their part.

Both were used to show that you can talk the talk and walk the walk. So yeah, in that sense they were the exact same.
