Can we take action against Bard Macro Player yet?

Not sure If this has been mentioned before but there is an argument to be made for people who also make their own arrangements and MIDIs and put in the work to make something different or unique. People such as myself, that feel proud of working on an arrangement of a MIDI for days or even weeks, picking the right musical composition to go with it, and sharing it with whoever wants to listen.

Also not sure if OP is trolling or just has nothing better to do than spend 99% of their time practicing music. I suggest picking up an instrument in real life.

There are people, such as myself, who actually practice playing these songs, and we get immediately overshadowed by people who just press play on a program. There is no competition, we lose because it's impossible for us to play songs at a normal place without either conforming to third party software ourselves, or hooking up an actual midi keyboard (which I would be more okay with!).

if you want to be recognized by playing yourself, just capture yourself playing in the keyboard and upload on youtube, or whatever you want. it's not that difficult.

This thread is ridiculous. Who gives a crap is people use the player or not is it harming the game and players in any sense to the point its detrimental? let me answer that, no it is not. I can understand for example if everyone in limsa at the same time for hours on end played music then that would be annoying but if it is just a small amount it does no harm.

Is it wrong to say that i laugh at this thread every time? Its not hurting the game economy whats so ever and its not breaking the game. No ones care if you know how to play a instrument in real life. Just a program that people use to share there love for music

FTFY. I'd absolutely hate for this game to have anti-cheat software considering Anti-cheats are notorious for false-flagging drivers for logitech mice, or keyboard drivers, or drawing tablet drivers. Or just drivers in general.

As I have said recently, I just turned 60.

I wanted a world with the Jetsons type technology...what i got was a world that has more or less gone bloody insane. I have also learned recently that a lot of my old classmates have gone before me, which in itself is a hard thing to accept.

Too young, too bloody soon.

I am alone now..I play for fun and for social contact, and in all truth, for moments like these bard players. They give no ingame advantage, no player power...and to me at least, they are times when i park my character, lean back, close my eyes and simply listen. The music isnt perfect ( hey it aint a 300 piece orchestra but whatever...), like many of my age I look forward in uncertainty, at times look back in regret, take each day as it comes.

For good or ill, its all we have.

What harm is there? What problem does it cause? They dont ASK for money ( they get donations sure, but thats on the part of others, they DONT ever ask for any fee nor would they, thats not why they are there ) Why is it hard for some to accept that for many, all they see and feel and hear are a few moments of beauty, a few moments of joy..so whats the issue here?

Lets say for arguments sake that SE does clamp down and ban those midi players...to what end? To what effect? What POSSIBLE issue would it solve other than wiping out roving bard groups that have gone around to make others lives a little more kind with music?

We would LOSE far more than we could possibly hope to gain..so I ask again..whats the problem here?

In the case of drawing tablet drivers - absolutely not. They simply allow for the drawing tablet to be *used*.
A lot of keyboard drivers also function the same way, simply allowing keyboards that aren't plug-and-play to be used. I don't care about game enhancing features - anti-cheat software just sucks massively and needs to be massively reworked before it taints any more games.
