Well for me it was simple: I love dogs, I cant have a dog in real life right now and this virtual one is so cute and affordable (EU prices) that I bought it.
It has nothing to do with accomplishment or feeling proud.

Normally I dont like the cash shop, but in that case I just could not resist.

Empty and meaningless. I dont buy from the mogstation but I've had a few people gift me mounts and minions for presents, birthdays and such. And while the gesture I'd nice, it's never ever as good a feeling as anything I earned in game myself.

Noooooooo, what you're doing is encouraging SE to sell exclusive content to the mog station first and foremost, and to go further and further to make us pay, which in the long run is harmful to Eorzea...

We recently bought a new GPU and monitor for my spouse, specifically for gaming.
Cost? Well over US$1000 plus tax. And that's just an upgrade, not a new system.

I used to have similar sentiment to basically any 'cash shop only'-items in all previous games I played. Spending very little, aka being minimalistic was my way to go to play games. I would try to maximize everything as a 'freebie' and be resourceful. That habit still carried on to this date, although that has more to do with my financial prowess in the past vs the present.

Now that I have more control and freedom, it really depends on the item in question. I am not a mount-person in this game. I only get them if they're within my reach or have any semblance of motivation to collect. I'm content to just wait for dev to add EX mounts into mogtomes.
But if it's a costume that I really really -REALLY- like to have? "Get in my cart, b****!!!"

I will make sure to be happy with my purchases Buying what I really want and like to have.

no, you are called a troll because of the things you post. I really arent bothered by anyone having a different opinion than mine because my opinion is mine, not theirs. it is just as valid, so I dont look down on people for that and call them "commoners' or 'fanatics'

last I checked, SE is a company, not a charity. I understand they need to make money to stay in business. am I going to whine and complain and insult strangers because of that? nope. if I did not like their product, I wouldnt play their game, or buy anything from them. period. but I, and I suspect many others, get HOURS of enjoyment and fun for pennies a day. pennies literally.
