The direction of FFXIV's music.

I've made posts about this before, particularly with regards to the length of the tracks.

I also did not like the FFXI music from what I experienced of it.

I love the Gobbue music to death, it reminds me of a great airship music and is very FF3 [VI] nostalgic for me, which frankly is the direction I want the music to take [FF2, 3].

Well, here's to hoping we get a rep response as to whether or not they plan on adding entirely new music for existing zones in the 2.0 release.

I'd love to see elements taken from FFVI, VIII, XI, etc.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying high quality orchestrated pieces are bad, as they're absolutely beautiful when done tastefully. I just don't really get the Final Fantasy vibe with this more modernized form of music all over the place. I'm sure some will, but I think a lot don't.

Those who Fight Further

Some of us are used to those grungy synths, and as "oldschool" as they may seem, they can be modernized, and XI is a great example of that.

Though that isn't to say XIV is completely void of that nostalgic sound. For example, a portion of the U'ghamaro mines hits the nail right on the head. When I first heard it I thought it could have came right out of XI.

I really dont like a lot of XIV's original songs, I love all the new ones they've have added and I love Coerthas to bits, but the rest not so much. Especially the chocobo music, sick of it lol.

I totally agree. FFXIV music is soulless, has no feeling, doesnt fit, horrible, boring. I play with music turned off because this music is awful, It ruins the game for me. Now FF11 on the other hand I absolutely loved zoning and enjoying the zone themes such as windys theme, bastok, Jueno, White gate, dynamis Xarcabard. They seriously need to completely redo every single zone in this game. I cannot believe how awful this games music is.

Everyone has their own tastes, but I mean honestly? I probably could count on one hand how many times I've seen people openly saying they didn't like XI's OST.

It's just.. ....really damn amazing all around. Hard to live up to, even.
