Problems letting go of XI? Japanese too.

I was browsing the japanese forums and noticed a lot of them crying about the game as well. They are very polite of course but at the same time demanding so it comes out sounding strange. I noticed some post about red Mage and how they where able to level magic skill by using them to skill up etc and how this was the best system etc. I thought the crying and return of XI was big in the NA side but seems to be the same across the world. Honestly do we want a completely new game or next gen XI? Personally I would like a complete and new game with SOME borrowed ideas that really worked for the community in XI. What do you want, half XIV/XI or a completely original game?

original but with FFXI influanced ideas and not just FFXI there are some MMO's out there with great ideas that I wouldnt mind having in XIV, like Aion and the ability to change the appearance of gear to another piece of gear you have in your possession.

There is lots of good ideas and great systems in other mmos out there. I played a lot of different games and because some of these games failed or are not too popular pple assume that everything about these games suck. That is not true, some have great systems as i mentioned but overall everything else about the game is broken and buggy and thats why they fail. The devs and our players too need to take a look around and see that FFXIV can benefit from a lot of ideas out there.

I know the majority of player we have now come from FFXI and most of them never played anything else but XI so that's why they keep asking for XI features to be added in FFXIV not realizing that while these are great, it might have been done in a better way by another game.

I've played tons of MMOs and I have to say that FFXI was far my favorite next to mabinogi. Mabinogi would be number one IF it didn't have soo many instances.

Ya other MMOs have great ideas, but really... Final Fantasy, they should be taking MOST of their ideas from FFXI and a few from other games. Sorry but I would rather have FFXIV be closer related to FFXI than WoW or Rift or Starfail.

While there are many tings that should have just been a "duh" to bring over: auction house, linkshell management, party features etc many people hear XI suggestion and throw up on it even if its something universally useful or poses no threat

Skill up system was terrible don't bring that shit back spending 5 hrs for an .5 skill up....
