I seriously doubt that we're actually talking about all ERP cafe's here, people just have a tendency to assume that all RP is ERP at this point.

I wish they would at least ban the ones with URLs that lead to porn.
I used to report the ones that did (explaining how people under the age of 18 play this game) and nothing happens. It makes you wonder if some GMs in their downtime host some of these on their non-GM alts.

Ehm, I am pretty sure that linking to porn in public chat is a bannable offense.
Then again according to people on this forum the GM's both ban people for everything but also at the same time never bans so who the hell knows.

And it used to be banned hard but it's not anymore. I'm saying it all needs to be banned. Any spam about your stupid cafe or tavern or whatever you want to try to mask your erp crap needs to be banned outright.

This game doesn't belong to you, other people play the game too and can play it how they want.
Acting like your personal feelings and tastes should override that of others and dictate what others are allowed to do is pretty shitty imo, even if one doesn't like ERP I think that's something most people should agree on.
Otherwise where does it end, you can't just apply personal opinions to this because yours isn't anymore valid than that of others.

Like I said above you already have a tool for this if you're really hung up on seeing it for some bizarre reason.
Use the blacklist function.

If they're actually linking to porn however or if they make very obscene comments in public then that's a different matter and then I can agree it's a problem.
However lots of people do this not just ERP:ers, recently I was in Limsa and people were having some weird personal feud in public they were spamming about and cursing at each other.

If you see '' 18+ '' and immediately have a complete mental breakdown about it then you're the one who needs to see a therapist tbh, it's not a normal reaction.
Do you have this reaction too when you see lingerie commercials in public?
Just like obscene comments are different than just '' come to my 18 cafe '', lingerie ads are also different than porn.
It's not all the same and it's about how people do it.

I think most normal people don't think this is a big deal in 99% of cases, there are a few cases maybe where it crosses the line but most people don't obsessively hate ERP or just the mention of 18+ stuff.
