When it comes to intercross gardening access, I highly recommend asking a friend with a house to add you as tenant if they aren't gardening themselves. It is an annoying frustrating process when it comes to trying to get the seeds for many items like Thavnairian Onions. You might find you really don't care about access to intercross gardening after all, especially if you're unable to log in every single day of the week consistently.

But that doesn't mean that SE shouldn't do a better job of giving players access to larger spaces than apartments for decorating and socializing.

Having said all that, hell yeah in my perfect world instanced housing would be the way to go. 100%. But if I'm going to ask for things to be implemented, I'd rather ask for something they've done before instead of expecting them to create a whole new system that might take years or something.

Adding more wards only adds more strain.

You've already mentioned Islands. With Islands SE has demonstrated, they're capable of doing fully instanced housing.

While I understand your reasoning to push for more of what SE has done for the past - I think, it's a terrible idea.

4.) Make things like Thavnarian onions/ seeds available through tombstone exchange or some other way that doesn't give an advantage to those that can cross breed and sell them. In addition anything through crossbreeding is now market prohibited.

I got a house this week (and still think they should do instanced housing/ bigger apartments) and have no intention of growing onions. It’s way too much trouble. If you check wards, you’ll notice that very few houses are growing onions for that same reason. It’s easier to make gils to buy onions. I am happy to finally have a garden and am already using it but not for onions and rng crops. There’s easy gils to be made with simple and fast growing plants that you don’t risk losing because of RL. I also have an apartment and fc room on all my toons and use pots in two of them only. Sadly decoration slots are very limited in apts but if you have slots available, go ahead.

Maybe they should have a room that looks like an indoor garden in each apartment building where people can have a small garden and cultivate what they want (a bit like an inn room with weather).

Onions can be cultivated with an fc where more than one person can tend to the crops. We now have free onions for FC members because someone volunteered to do the gardening and others lend a hand when needed but if it weren’t for that, I’d go back to buying them. I think that 130k-150k for an onion is fair given the trouble and the time it takes.

Get into an FC that has a house and it is not locked to anyone anymore... it is an illusion.... however make stuff such as Onions for Chocobos sold by NPC's for 10K or something instead and other things down the line.

10K? Not only they are not going to do it but that is way too little. Given how much trouble they are to grow, SE surely wanted them to be somewhat pricey. Seriously, just buy them off the MB. That's what I did for 2 1/2 toons till fc started cultivating them. It is just 10 onions and gils are easy to make.

Remove sources of incomes from housing/FC, will make it fair to all.

That way anyone who wanted can try growing an onion to feed their choco (and likely give up once they realise they are tied to an unskippable daily task).

Only 8 of the 10 need to be obtained through gardening or marketboard.

Every player is able to get 2 for free by doing a few side quests. Some players who don't care about ranking up their chocobos even do those side quests just to get the onions to sell.

It would have been nice but we know it's not going to happen.

If there is anyone out there on a NA world who's absolutely certain they need house to have a garden so they can grow Thavnairian Onions, make an alt on Coeurl and contact me. I'll make you a tenant at my house and give you full gardening permissions for a 2 month period.

I won't do any of the work for you other than help you transfer what supplies you need from your other NA world character and to help you return any leftover supplies and what you've grown back to that character. I will be happy to share what information about the process I can.

What do I ask in return? I ask that you create a thread in this subforum to be a detailed journal of your experience and impressions as you grow the Onions. Share with others who also want to be able to grow the Onions what the process is really like.

If they could of they would of you got to realize were talking about a issue that has non stopped been talked about for probly 5 years plus on these forums... Yet they made sure to make it known the island isself contained everything you do in there is only for there

It's a numbered Final Fantasy, at the end of the day our individual interests and wishes are on the bottom of a very long list, or not at all; and at the top of that list? Final Fantasy 16, 17, 18, etc.

So i hope people feel something about all that money they spend on this game, not knowing whether or not it's being dumped into the game they pay for; or the next 2-3 future Final Fantasy titles.
