She is "running away" because she opened a thread on a subject people ended up not agreeing with or fully supporting her. Instead, they have expressed criticism towards her and now she wants to close the thread. Basically, she wants everyone to shut up, even though she started the discussion.

I do not live in the states, but didn’t the ruling just make it a local matter instead of federal? I do not believe they made it illegal or revoked the right altogether, and also it appears the trigger laws that went into effect were written in such a zero sum way because no one really thought it would be overturned. From what I gather most do feel that with time states will adopt more sensible limitations like no abortions after 15 weeks as an example.

I do not see how holding a vigil within a game will work towards moving the needle any quicker since it sit local issue now isn’t the proper means of doing such things on the local level?

I thought all the people in a tizzy about politics in the game would be happy with being told I've gotten what I need from the thread, that they've made their point. I thought you /wanted/ me to shut up. That's why I said mods can lock the thread if they want-so that everyone can move on since they clearly find this such a painful subject that they so obviously dislike talking about.

If you still want to gloat and genuflect, by all means, do so. I thought the point was that y'all didn't want to discuss politics in your video game, so I find it a bit funny that me saying "okay, fine, I'm done discussing it then" is just met with... jeering for not doubling down on discussing it. The party finder ruling was 100% consistent with past rulings, even though I am in 100% agreement that people should be able to do things like this. I don't like it, but at least there was plenty of precedent.

You people are so dramatic-what do you want her to do then, stay here and keep fighting for something you're against anyway? Let the thread run on for about 50 pages or so until it spirals so terribly off-topic that a GM is forced to close it? Isn't her dropping the discussion the right thing to do? or did you need her to to beg for your forgiveness first? Christ. Just agree to disagree and move on. People have differing opinions all the time. Doesnt mean its something that has to be harped on about for days. You both say what you think, think about it, then either you come to an agreement or you don't and part ways. You don't have to viciously start circling her now like she's got some sort of scarlet letter on her. It's obsessive weirdo behavior. Again. Its perfectly normal to disagree with someone. That isnt the issue here. It's this weird thing of trying to pick at her now insinuating she's this or that. It's immature and I see it happen to others here all the time. Internet activism will always be stupid and pointless no matter where it's done-way moreso in a game. and since we all agree, I know for sure that should anything else be overturned all of this same exact energy will be kept. I can't speak for others, but the way you tried to end the discussion saying "This thread has made it clear that people have a significantly different approach to what the game and its community means to them, compared to myself." might come out as a little off.
Saying that people have a different approach to the game and the community, compared to yourself, sorta implies that others don't care (as much at least) about the game nor others as much as you do. Seeing how you have brought up that you did it for the people of the game, so those who didn't wouldn't care about those people as much as you do.
Kinda putting yourself on the high horse above the other "nay-sayers".
Could've just said that since there are different opinions on this matter and that it's not going anywhere that the thread can be closed, as it's just going in circles.

But those are just my 2 cents.

People can and do care about other players.
But they might just do so that they talk about certain stuff outside of the game since ingame is trying to stay clear of certain things.

She gave her opinion on what she felt was right. People didn't agree, arguments ensued and now she's backing off because there's no way to come to an agreement on this. She didn't start some "crap" contrary to what you believe. You didn't agree with her and at the end of the day, that's fine.

But when she decides that the discussion is enough, that she wants to close her thread and you continue on despite the fact that she's had enough, I think there's an issue. An issue bordering on harassment. When someone says they're done, they're done.
