I'll end my participation on this thread with this:

They've had plenty of chances to add loot boxes, more so when they got super poplar, and didn't. They could have implemented plenty of systems to monetize XIV to hell and back and didn't. I see no reason why they'd ever implement NFTs on XIV, more so with what Yoshida said.

As someone who has seen the mogstation enter the game and slowly strip away unique looking things that can be used in game (lol cruise chaser) and sell it ala carte in a cash shop I don't know how to feel about this post, lol.

Changing your bolding a little there, as you've overdone it a touch. The weasel words show he doesn't actually rule it out.

He then went on to say that he thinks people misunderstand them, and he'd love to give a talk about it some time to explain why they are good.
