Very well said. It boggles my mind how offended people are with harmless option that doesn't even affect them in the slightest. I wonder if those people spend every second in the game socializing, otherwise it would by hypocrite of them.
I find it amusing that to some people, hiding other players= no social interaction at all. Meanwhile the player who turn on this feature may still chat with their fc/linkshell/friends. They still partake in social activity by doing dungeon/alliance/raid. They still join PF. They can still see shouts/yell and respond to it. Are all of these not social interaction? Why are we gatekeeping social interaction as "seeing other players"? Because I can spend my day in Limsa, seeing all those people, and not interacting with them one bit nor chatting with anyone (a.k.a being anti-social).
If I'm being toxic, I would say that people who complain about client-side "hide players/hide glams" are just narcists who can't cope with the idea that they're invisible to some players.
