SE, is it that hard to make the Mogstation outfits dyable?

Would also be nice if they let you buy individual pieces. In fact, it'd likely be more profitable to them as people will buy more if they can pick and choose, especially for alts.

Being able to buy the hair separately would be especially useful for something like the Lyse, Minfilia or Aymeric outfits. Would certainly save me some money and bag space because the first two outfits go right into the trash and the 3rd one can't even be used unless you're a male character but the hair can.


Being able to buy individual pieces would be useful in general, I don't know how often I only needed 1 or 2 pieces from a specific outfit, be that ingame or from the mogstation.

But my guess is that this is exactly why they aren't doing it, you have to pay for 2-3 pieces of gear that only clog up your retainer to get the 2 pieces you actually want.

It's just clothes, no? An NPC's identity can be more than what they wear, right?
Like, if SE's idea of "identity" is so tied to what a character wears, why even let us wear said outfits? I mean, Lyse is certainly not a lalafell, or a roegadyn, right?

Funny thing is, I could actually take a "we don't make them that customizable cause we just don't feel like it" response, but if the answer truly is about "preserving a character's identity", that just seems so... weak lol.

The issue is they don't want to they want to keep the NPC outfits iconic as to the way they appear in game. Would it be nice yes.

I personally would love to see them sell separates and have more of the stuff account wide. The hair finally works on Viera but you need to pay 15 dollars for the hair for alts as well. I would pay maybe 5 dollars if i could get it separately and buy it for multiple alts. As is stands right now I might not get it for any of them.

It would be more appealing if it could be dyed and also separate pieces. I rarely get any of them because of this. I have the ryne and minifilia modish outfits only which is because of the dress for one and the shoes for the other.

the limitations are the same as why viera and hroth cant wear hats, they just dont want to work on it because SE need to spend FFXIV money on other things.

Question: Where did the whole "The devs want to keep the integrity of the NPC's iconic looks" thing come from? Because Jojoya's comment in this thread is the first and only time I've heard it. Perhaps one of you could provide a source to this, otherwise I'm just going to assume it's not true and nip this little rumor in the bud. :B
