New hrothgar hairstyles are really bad.

There WERE a few people complaining about Viera existing, myself being one of them. Mostly because the race is another half-human race like AuRa and Miqote, and another tall forest race like Elezen, bringing absolutely nothing new to the game. Hrothgar were a playable beast race, something not in the game before, something the dev team wanted, and has been shafted from the beginning due to the devs caving and adding Viera into the game. Since then, Viera have been catered to and gotten blatant favoritism over Hrothgar, even getting their missing half first, and deal with less limitations than Hrothgar players have. So yeah, I still believe Viera should have never been added into the game, period, and I will die on that hill,

If there WERE, then I haven't seen any of them. And I for one, at least at the start, loved being in Hrothgar spaces. And while Viera were memed, they weren't memed any more than other races were.

Obviously I wasn't on all of them, but it sure as hell was not as prevalent as the sentiment that came from Viera. Worse still is how that one leaked to in-game interactions, so even if you did do that yourself, you're still an incredibly small minority. Viera players have hounded Hrothgar players for years in far greater numbers and in far greater intensity.

A sentiment I don't even blame on the playerbase alone. Not even 50/50. The majority of this blame goes to the devs, because as you said, were they not showing favouritism, people wouldn't be at eachother's throats. There wouldn't be misunderstandings. And there sure as hell wouldn't have been the whole "you guys took male viera from us" bull that was circulating.

Besides, what you're saying is a sentiment that popped up very recently in public spaces. At least the "they should never have been implemented" bit from a Hrothgar player. Because only about a year and a half ago did you start seeing Hrothgar players be publicly bitter toward Vieras. But as I said, at the start, over 3 years ago, the sentiment that Viera had toward Hrothgar was already common and widespread, and the frequent shafting of Hrothgars from conversations about races with problems was also common. And that's what I meant. When I say "I didn't see Hrothgars complain Viera were implemented", I'm talking about how it wasn't common at all for Hrothgar players to complain about Viera existing in public spaces as often as Viera did to us. It was a sentiment that's only since gradually grown, due to both the playerbase's constant mistreatment of Hrothgar and attention to Viera, to the dev team ignoring Hrothgar problems and demands and only catering to Viera. Even if in a botched state regardless.

Addendum: Though I'm talking about "Hrothgar players" saying that, the overall sentiment that Viera should "never have been implemented" is actually fairly widespread. I've seen members of every single race say so. Same for Hrothgar. It's since actually died down, but not when it comes to Hrothgar.

What I mean by "Hrothgar players haven't been saying it publicly", I meant with the same intensity and numbers Viera have been doing to Hrothgars. We didn't spread around that Female Hrothgar were shafted because the playerbase harassed the dev team to implement Viera. But the stupid rumour that we shafted Male Vieras did. A rumour so stupid people legit ELECTED TO IGNORE when I pointed out that Yoshida stated he wanted Hrothgar himself, and that Viera only happened because people demanded it.

An actual statement. By the lead dev. And people chose to ignore it. But people were quicker to spread a stupid rumour.

So when RyuDragnier says "I'm one of those people", that's not what I mean. I myself have expressed frustration, especially when Male Viera came out. You and other people like you may feel that way, but you aren't the ones giving Viera players actual shit in-game, you're not the ones harassing the dev team and players over their decisions, you're not the ones to constantly express in public spaces how much you hate Viera and want them gone. Because that has been my experience. Actual discrimination in-game. Seeing people constantly badger the dev team for something they'll get anyway because of the dev team's favouritism. You aren't the same. You may feel that way, but you're not awful like half of the playerbase has been for 3 years.

Hrothgar have been relatively silent throughout all of it. Yeah, you'd have some people against Viera, but you have people against other races everywhere. That wasn't the issue.

The issue is how there's more people against Hrothgar than any other race. I think the only race that ever comes close to getting as much crap is Roegadyn. But I blame it entirely on the dev team due to how they choose to portray races in their game and how they choose to ignore players of those races.

GShade isn't a mod... At least I don't think so? Square said that shaders were fine, since they didn't alter the game's files. Even Nvidia's own native software has shaders like GShade.

But I agree with the Au Ra, I haven't met a Hrothgar that hasn't used at least one mod. Though in all fairness, I also haven't met a PS4 Hrothgar player either xD
