Put some respect on my boy Ilberd "Sloppeh Toppeh" Feare's name.
I only did the healer ones but i think you fight a total of like….5 of them. For an expansion that was supposed to be a big bang it sure lacked that feeling. The expansion trailer showing the entire world on fire, meanwhile only 2 zones get the red skies lmao. I’m shivering in my boots.Blasphemies did appear in the old zones. We visit a few of them through the Role Quests, a sampler of what is occurring throughout the known world. I suppose they could have done something similar to WoW's zombie invasion pre-Litch King, but that went over like a lead balloon for me, full of unintended consequences (like "no fighting in neutral zones = nothing but zombies running around that you can't fight") and player zombies complaining when people actually killed them because they were, well, zombies.
Something like that wouldn't have gone well when Your Warrior of Light turned into a blasphemy.

I know that as well. I finished the role-quest and I can’t say I was impressed by the final blasphemy. Nerva could’ve at least been given a human model like all the other blasphemies. Again, I meant that they would just pop up everywhere in the old zones like the random mobs you see in there. At least that’s what I thought when the towers appeared. But that was before I knew the nature of these creatures.Blasphemies did appear in the old zones. Ilberd was a hothead that played the Scions (especially Alphinaud lol) for absolute fools. Were it not for his actions, Nanamo wouldn't have been poisoned, Thancred would still be able to use Aether, Y'shtola wouldn't be "blind", Papalymo and Minfilia would still be alive, and the WoL along with Alphi and Tataru wouldn't even have a reason to escape to Ishgard. Also Ala Mhigo and Doma would likely still be under Imperial rule if he hadn't forced the Alliance's hand.
Call him what you want, but the man had a damn successful stint as a villain.

I... Well he didn't mean to... I got nothing. We need more villains like him. He got a whole dungeon for crying out loud. We need less Zenos and more ilberd. I'm a believer now, lol.Ilberd was a hothead that played the Scions (especially Alphinaud lol) for absolute fools. Controversial stories are the best. If everyone came out of a story that was intended to have this much grey area agreeing on everything, that'd be a sign it was too simplistic.
The disagreements about whether x part was good or y part was logical of a group of people deserved b or c group of people did d right.... those are the sign of a well handled story with characters people care about.

Endwalker has all but exhausted my patience for "grey areas" when it comes to antagonists to the point where I long for the return of a straight up bad guy instead of the game trying to coax me into sympathizing with or understanding people like Hermes.Controversial stories are the best.
