I mean you can disagree as much as you want, if you do df you are expected to behave in a certain way or your considered problematic sooo if you do 0-10 or 50-60 in potd or 20-30 in hoh, you do it to level not to get weapon levels.

If they added a min required time 2 things would happen

1, its no longer a good way to level and you will wait 30+min to get a party
2, its still a good way to level and ppl will sit afk on the teleport the moment its active

get 3 fc members and just run it the way you want to or run 1-10 or w/e you can enter a couple times, you will eventually get your weapon and armor levels.

If SE made killings mobs relevant (exp bonus or weapon/armor upgrades) it might change, till then potd and hoh is for exp.

Adding a minimum time requirement to content that has a time limit is asinine. How far have you gotten in DD? Do you know what a loot run is? For someone who claims they know how the DD community feels, you sure are spouting complaints I've never heard of as someone who's made it multiple times to the top and bottom of both HoH and PotD either on loot runs, speedruns, or leveling runs. Do you know how I find party members for this sort of stuff? It's called, wait for it, a Party Finder. If you're expecting people in randoms (which doesn't even allow you to reach top level, so once again, I doubt you speak for people who like DD) to align with whatever you want, I can't really reason with that level of arrogance.

If you want chests, PF for a loot run. It's that simple.

Call it gatekeeping, but DD is a piece of content that I still adore in this game and to have it changed to fit the wants of someone who doesn't even seem that invested in it, no matter what that change may be, is going to strike a nerve.

EDIT: "You can't solo that well without finding chests first"
Your weapon level is largely workable until floor 100 of PotD when soloing and you can solo grind it VERY quickly with any measure of competence. I speak from experience.

Of all the times I've done PoTF, I've never had a complaint if people go after chests. Sure, they run to the portal to the next floor, but nothing else is ever said. Which is also a pain .. no dang communication!

This is one place where I can see the logic in the arguments on both sides. Some people are just wanting to level their classes and don't care about getting their arm/armor higher than necessary. Some want to work toward the weapons for the glamour or maybe even because they're still at a level where it's useful.

It's not a development solution, but I try to counter the argument by just asking if anyone needs to silvers if I see any weapons that aren't red. Someone speaks up, I make it clear I will help them. That's half the party so I don't often see the others just running to the portal when something is said. And considering all we have to do it unfog the room to check, it doesn't take that much longer if we all work together. But even if someone goes to the portal, I still help the person who wanted silvers. If they run to the portal because they don't want to try clearing to a far one, then I go with them.

Overall though, the system wasn't really future proofed that well. It needs some adjustments so those who do want the upgrades for whatever reason can get them as easily in the run as those who are leveled focused. Not sure how, but I'm sure the developers could come up with something that would be workable.

90% of people doing duty finder deep dungeon are there to level. Therefore, going as fast as possible is the priority. Don't like it? Go solo or make your own group. Problem solved.

That said, if you politely ask to get silver chests most people will roll with it.

I haven't read the thread yet but your idea is terrible and you should feel bad.

So instead of changing the attitudes of players around us, change the dungeon instead? That makes it sound like it's the contents fault people behave the way they do; which is asinine.

The first option is by far superior because not only do you get the same amount of chests per hour, you also get twice as much EXP. And yes, it does work that way. I've farmed 8 or so Kinna weapons in Duty Finder and it's just as fast to farm them when you speed through as when you hunt around for chests. No reason to waste your groups time.
This is not accurate at all and I've been running enough POTD for timeworn artifacts recently to know exactly how long runs take. A no chest run of 51-60 takes about 10 minutes. When rooms are unfogged to look for silvers, about 12 or 13 minutes. This is because when the group makes a concerted effort we have multiple people unfogging rooms and it's not necessary to fight anything extra unless it's on the way or the room has a silver. If one is multiple rooms out and we don't see it within the first room or two, then that one may be sacrificed. But it is nowhere near twice the time to go look for silvers if your group works together.

A minimum time to gain EXP? No. A thousand times, no.

Maybe EXP that is relative to time spent in the duty, increasing with increments of time spent. But definitely not a minimum required time.

Except your argument holds no water because it already changed. This content wasn't put in for just for leveling. The main reward was the rather good ilevel weapon for the time that it came out. DPS being able to get into a dungeon where they didn't have to sit in queue forever was the icing on the cake. The trend in groups was to unfog all rooms to check for all possible silvers. It's only when the weapon went to the status of glam and the community only started caring about leveling that people got so rude about getting silver chests to each other. So don't go ranting about being invested when you don't even understand what the content was put there for or how the community has warped the original intention.
