I don't think lack of empathy is a new thing. In fact when I watch MTV shows from my teen years, I am horrified how little empathy we had towards people who had minor aesthetic flaws like a big nose or lips that were too thin, not to speak of America's Next Top Model labeling a woman who can't be bigger than a size 2 as plus size model and then one of the judges screaming that they should kick her because America's Next Top Model cannot be plus size.
It just seems to me hard to imagine someone having such a phobia because you could virtually never leave the house if say you're afraid of men because of trauma involving men. Additionally, it just opens a can of worms with discrimination. I've had friends who were racist towards certain nationalities because they were sexually abused as children by someone of that nationality and mentions if that nationality became a trigger. I remember vividly how someone said to my friend when she was trying out grey contact lenses that "they make you look Egyptian" and my friend had a full on panic attack where she was crying in a fetal position on the floor. The person who said it had no idea what was going on but me knowing what had been done to her could empathize. That being said while I empathize and don't think that such a phobia is the same as your standard old institutionalized racism, few people have empathy for people who are racist due to trauma. A lot of Vietnam vets have such PTSD attacks when they see an Asian looking person but generally we don't accept that because we consider racism bad in any way shape or form. The same dilemma applies to gender. How do you cater to someone who has a fear of a certain gender without justifying discrimination against that gender?

Kupo!
Help, I think I installed the mod that made everyone a miqo'te or viera.
Please stop with these threads asking them to waste time on fixing a very niche and personal issue that only you yourself can come to terms with in your own way. It's not going to make anything better and it's a waste of time.
As much as I would enjoy a game where everyone is a shirtless hunky muscle dude...
This is an extremely misanthropic proposition.
I know this post has to be a joke but it does raise the point of trying to cater to everyone is impossible. You will always offend someone if you try to cater to everyone.I won't go into why I personally am suggesting it.
I think this is something a lot of people could use if they are uncomfortable around more typically masculine or feminine looking characters.
Optionally, if adding somebody to your blacklist hid them, that would work as a possible solution as well. If they did this and increased the blacklist size to be infinite, I think a lot of issues people have with various social aspects of the game would be resolved. (Trolling/Griefing RP, People blocking an NPC, Emotional Safety)
I think adding such a toggle would be good for the game, but I want to know what other people think as well.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
WoW has a toy item called "Ovetuned Corgi Goggles." which should take care of things like this: https://youtu.be/QStRioQwosc?t=160
Turns all friendly player characters and NPC's into Corgi dogs. Unfortunately, it lasts only 10 minutes with a 30 minute cooldown like most of the transformation toys.
I'm still waiting for an option to hide everyone's glamour.
