Had a tank with the YTYP mentality the other day. He got mad at the healer for having the gall to be one step in front of him so he freaks out and turns his stance off. I got fed up with that attitude so I opted to tank the dungeon myself. The healer focus healed me as I tanked as a Machinist the rest of the dungeon. anything 50 and below anyone can pretty much tank so we didn't need him.

I got the weirdest tank the other day in Skalla. He would use all his mitigations before pulling, wait for them to wear off, and then pull. No aoe combo on trash and no tank stance.

He had the sprout icon so the dps and I tried to explain the basics of tanking, but either he didn't speak english or wasn't watching chat and we had to kick him after the first boss. I then healed a reaper tank until we finally got a chad warrior at the end. Boosted character, bot, or someone's kid they let play...I dunno but it was an experience I haven't had before.

I'm glad I main tank so I don't have to deal with tanks like that. So much worse when it's a sprout that does not read chat or won't listen.

Popping in to add some positivity and say the group I had in Matoya's Relic, a dungeon I LOATHE because of how bad my latency makes it (living in a rural helldump ftw) really made the dungeon a fun experience. The healer and tank were new to the roles or the dungeon itself and just incredibly good sports and cracking jokes.

With the 20 year anniversary of XI happening I've been reflecting a lot on my time in early MMOs and lamenting that community feeling and after a crap day at work in my personal worst dungeon I get some of that community spirit and camraderie as we progged through the dungeon to end my day on. Thanks for being great guys.

Of course the MCH who did less DPS than anybody else and who I was scraping off the floor at least once per fight won the minion in Stigma Dreamscape. Of course.

Honestly, if the healer is on point you can tank any dungeon in the game on a dps class. Source: I have.

Had a WAR that died on the 1st pull of Smiletown, thru Whispering Dawn, Sacred Soil, Recitation+Exog and 2 Lustrates.

Mitigation was clearly a foreign concept for them.

I'm healing Orbonne Monastery. We're dong Thunder God and I notice my heals aren't reaching one person in the party. It's a sprout hanging out with the wrong alliance. Can't type fast enough on console to tell them to move over while balancing mechanics, so I rescue pull them to our group. They then proceed to run alllllll the way back to the wrong alliance. I didn't pull them over again and let them die.

I understand that alliance raids can be confusing, but if you're surrounded by people that don't share the same names as your party list, you gotta get a clue sometime.
