It's basically dead on Primal. It takes an eternity to get a pop, at least as a tank, now here even during prime hours (over 30-40 mins average) . And god help you if you que after primetime. Be prepared to have something else to do to pass time because you could watch a full length movie by the time it pops.

sounds like you need to make a dps friend because they'll speed your queue up massively

I have never seen the tank chest drop since the instance was release. Not even once. Boots, gloves? Almost every run. Chest? Nope. Just ran it again after 40 minutes of waiting only for nothing to drop this time. This is why RNG-based systems are terrible because somebody may get extremely lucky while someone else spends forever farming something someone else got in one try. There is zero reason for RNG-based drop rates. Just make it guaranteed, all this does is make people burn themselves out on a piece of content farming for something they want.

And I've done two or three runs where tank chest dropped and was discarded because no one rolled for it. RNG is RNG and a fickle mistress.

I've been going for tank loot myself and just doing the raids as a dps when I queue solo. And still get my weekly loot.

As others said. 24 player alliance raid queues for Tank are generally long because there are only 3 tank slots per 24 ppl. It's pretty much the only content where tank doesn't insta-queue almost all the time.

The same number of gear pieces drop every time. The chance of the thing you want filling one of those slots is the same as any other possible result on the slot. Blame RNG for not seeing the single item you want. Though some would say hidden laws of probability state that the things you want from RNG will default to a 0.00000000001% chance of appearing just because it's the thing you want.

Lastly. The queue time you're claiming sounds like a gross exaggeration because I've queued that as a tank as well a few times and it was nowhere near that long a wait.

Welcome to queueing as a tank for an alliance raid, and queueing for a busy one at that. It's not dead regardless of what you think.

You want to have fun with drop rates try collecting all the field notes in Bozja. I have 5 bikes and that's only cause I'm a crazy person.

I understand you're not having luck with the tank chest but I have it on a number of my alts and they're not even queuing as a tank. Can't speak for primal but I can speak for Aether, Chaos, Crystal, Materia and Light and the queue times are fine for healers and dps.
