How is anyone fine with the 4-month patch delivery schedule?

To be fair... I don't really know if I ever saw an MMO free oe otherwise that would ever nail. The replayable content isn't exactly easy to nail. Just look at whatever they tried to implement in any of the WoW expansions. Island expeditions, Tower of Thorghast. Each on paper supposed to give player something to do yet the rewards were so lackluster and yet tied to current progression so players were forced to do them alongside dozen of daily activities which only lead to the burnout.

There's also the thing that unlike some other games out there FFXIV doesn't throw the old content to garbage every time a new expansion drops. And a large portion of this patch went into reworking old dungeons, implementing Duty Support and bringing old markers up to the current standards. And I'm grateful they did put their effort there.

But they already have a proven track record in this game to back that up. The list that comes to mind instantly:

#1 Housing - The demolition timer added post-release was a classic gotcha trap.

#2 Cash Shop - Originally only had plans to add a few items every so often. Now it is 5-10 items every month or more.

#3 Event items - The first events gave items that you could trade / buy / sell at any time. Now every item is untradable and the only way to get it is a year after the event for $.

The dev team is great but there is no denying SE will do anything that they can to milk this game forever.

Demo timer is 45 days. Plenty of time to log back in once in a while.

Cash Shop added... 6? new items since Endwalker launch.

Event items were botted and sold, blame the greedy botfarms.

Compare FF to any other MMO in terms of milking the game and honestly its not even bad.

I like the content cycles we get, if you don't tough shit, go find something else to play. I on the other hand am quite grateful to get consistent content. Try playing something like swtor that rarely gets updated and then tell me how ffxiv content is so bad.

I love the pettiness because god forbid I criticism this game in any way shape or form. Suppose I touched a nerve.

I love the irony that it's okay to have this toxic attitude but simply criticizing aspects of the game I dislike means I should just quit. You're allowed to adore this game and every aspect of it just as I'm allowed to criticism it. That doesn't mean I dislike the game as a whole. Put simply, if you don't like my opinion. Kindly take your own advice and go find someone else to reply to.

He's right though, the OP is wanting to add stuff to make people log in daily, something the director himself does not want people to do. Yoshi-P wants people to play when they want, sub when they want, take breaks, and not feel pressured to keep playing. The OP wants to pressure people to keep playing, so what they want is the opposite of what the director himself wants from this game. Hell, most players would likely tell them the same thing, that they don't want to be pressured to log in daily.
