I’m very confused on how does one even “get bad” in this game when the game itself is so conflict adverse it has basically bend over backwards to anyone with a pulse.

Assuming your not going savage and even the harder trials you can safety get carried toward, seen it happen all the time

How to say you didn't read the thread without saying you didn't read the thread. Also, this is exactly the type of disparaging remark that was making the OP feel uncertain and bad in other threads. So, shoo if you're going to be like that.

IMO, there's no perfect MMO or game in this world. Every games have their flaws which you can or can't accept them.

You can watch youtube vids for class intro/guides, that will help you improve your damage and class understanding better. Its just a game of memorization mostly so over time you will get better, its not something thats too complex although some jobs are easier than others BRD is probably one of the more complex rdps. When I first started I play WHM and WAR and I really do find theyre easier than other classes one I tried the others.

I recommend WeskAlber channel, he has guides for every jobs, my go to channel for learning new classes. I probably suck at BRD too since I dont know how it works.

I started as bard like you, and switched to other jobs later RDM > DRK > AST > WHM > GNB

Play as "Hien / Thancred etc.." quests not fun and not sure why SE wants to keep it instead of a cut scene.

Learning other jobs / classes can give you idea about what they can do and what they cant.. you can act accordingly with your current job.
Don't feel bad about deaths, all of us at some point did blind dungeon run and died several times.. you can't predict most mechanics if it is blind run.

People who says game easy people who did same dungeon multiple times.. so they know every mechanic and order.
Ignore toxic players (they are rare but exist) :3

The issue wasn't/isn't that I "got bad" at the game. The issue was that I haven't gotten good at it. And that isn't for want of trying, as have explained at various points in this thread.

Fair is fair - I'm not adverse to a difference in opinion and I do understand that some who find the game easy will find it more difficult to see the viewpoint of someone who finds it difficult.

Keep an eye on your gear. Not only the level of it (ilevel) but condition as well. If you fail too often, they will be broken and less effective. Get used to repair them often.

At some points in the game, we will reach "Zenos's fights"-kinda of content that relay more on damage input or on mechanics ( I remember lv 70 or 60 Scholar quest job that made me nuts on all those failures to save the NPC).

In those cases, watch out the mechanics. Some NPC dialogues give us a hint about what to do.

And, if you get stuck on them, just watch a video tutorial. There is no shame at it! I do that a lot of times! In fact, some savage contents you can watch tutorials before attempting the run. This could make yourself less helpless to the party. And if you want a suggestion, watch the mtqcapture channel. She goes direct to the point in all stuff.

And, don't worry too much on your failures. All of us die eventually (one more often than others, but...).

About pressing buttons, just calm down. In time, you will get used to the combos and avoidance of AoEs. As you repeat content, some bosses will become far easier and predictable (an example: Titan). So, go on your own pace. There is no need to rush all knowledge on all mechanics and all bosses. The game is designed to be very kind to everyone, since you make yourself open to learn your own job and the basics of combat. But again, you can do all that slowly.

Oh, and try to find kind people to play with inside game. I had a lot of help in my playing time which was why I became myself a kinder person today. Kindness is always a good stuff to have while play anything

Alka drove me insane in that SCH quest until I realized that keeping him alive was more important than doing dps. If you keep him from dying he will do most of the dps needed to kill the boss without you having to do the most of it. Perfect example of the no cooldown tanks that drive us so insane in roulettes lol.

Yeah! I died around 100 times before getting the way of it! In fact, a lot of SCH job quests are harder than other healing jobs, in my opinion. I don't know why, but Alka's hp is always unwealthy. He should consider drop smoking ciggarrets asap! '-'

I'm sure you have seen people get carried all of the time. If only you could be carried through cordial interactions with other people....or carried through actually reading the thread.
