    That's not really true, UWU and UCOB have been suffering A LOT from the balance changes done to jobs, DPS checks are easier to meet now than they were in SB (some mechanics raiders straight up have to hold DPS not to push the bosses too much) and raidwides don't hurt as much as they used to.

    Well, the jokes on them, because I've been playing souls games since kingsfield, the ancient city, and they've never been "hardcore games". I'm casual as hell in them, make all kinds of mistakes, can't dodge worth crap, and I've completed every souls game.

    Hell, ultimates aren't really that hard (I only have experience it's Weapons Refrain: Ultima, I refuse to use the stupid moniker they came up with that ignores naming conventions), and while my group walled on titan, I never found the mechanics overwhelming or difficult, dps checks weren't even that bad.

    Doing too much damage and pushing mechanics are all by-products of job changes. If it's not content in the current level cap then they don't look at it too much. Why kick the content harder than it needs to since it's already being kicked unintentionally?

    Either alot of you have not actually seen the fight or just talk out your ass but, the fight still has parts that phase into each other like P2 -> P3 for example which is a pretty decisive wall it seems. Only P1 -> P2 is a checkpoint atm. Also best not to have kneejerk reactions when P1 & P2 have both been downed in PF already so checkpoints don't really matter here. It may be able to be downed quicker but the fight is not easier than you would expect by any means.

    That's true but outside of SOME DPS checks, mainly in TEA, the encounters are still well perserved. If you don't mitigate, you can still die. The only real difference is that you can get away with slightly less mitigation then before.

    I'm unsure what you're trying to say, I'm just stating that Ultimate's difficulty isn't really set in stone because they aren't adjusted alongside balance changes. Which is something else entirely than checkpoints.

    Balance changes are just an unfortunate side effect of the type of game 14 is. However, even when current UcoB's dps check wasn't insane and was, as it still is, an endurance race. I could see them using a checkpoint system to construct fights in similarly hard, but different ways. Chiefly upping the mechanical skill involved, but shortening the phases. I.E. over the top brutal, but short.
