Remember THAT scene? That scene where Y'shtola says goodbye to Runar, and suddenly has some sort of bizarre pause, that wierds everyone out, the music suddenly turns really creepy, then she just suddenly starts laughing and finishes her sentence like nothing happened?

So uh.....Did we just forget this? Is this gonna be like the end of Heavensward where Thordan is dying and looks at us and is horrified, the screen turns super dark and ominous and our character becomes consumed in shadow as if to imply something very dark about us? Or the beeping at the end of Crystal Tower story after Nero throws his gadget into the ravine?

Y'shtola was trying to break the tension with a joke, and the music got in on it. You know, like people do sometimes. Goodbyes are hard.

Runar gets brought up in 6.1, don't worry, they didn't forget about him.

That can't possiblity be it. That is extremely stupid if it was. It had to be foreshadowing something.

So I actually went back and checked this, because I was relying on fallible memory. Y'shtola breaks the tension with jokes (that usually aren't very funny) at other times, but in that case, it seems more of just the soundtrack recognizing that she's making a nigh-impossible promise to keep. Not ominous, not foreshadowing, just recognition that Y'shtola is about to say something with rather a bit more weight than anyone involved in the discussion is about to give it.

That implication is not in all language versions. In German he doesn't imply anything at all, I suspect it's the same for Japanese and French.

On the other hand the Warriors of Light from the First show up in Heavensward and resolved in Shadowbringers. G'raha Tia was left hanging in post ARR, and only showed up in Shadowbringers as well.

It might be foreshadowing for 8.0. Or it might not. We'll have to see.

I'm assuming you have not reached a point in the 6.1 storyline that lets you know the subject is very much not dropped. Or you skipped a number of the cut scenes. It is very plain what Y'shtola's thoughts on that matter are, and is the reason we're doing things at the end of 6.1 that a number of other people seem to complain about a lot.

I actually just replayed that in NG+. The scene seemed very weird to me too. It made me think of how she’s behaving now with her near obsessive interest in visiting other shards.

We might chock it up to poor translation… or possibly that Y’shtola has maybe got another agenda going.

I wouldn't even call it an obsession, I'd just call it 'hey, Y'shtola has a new goal to work towards'. The only remotely unhealthy thing we saw her do is fall asleep studying, and that's so normal for Sharlayans that she's not even the first member of the Scions to do that. Nor even the Sharlayan in this patch that neglects their health the most, thanks to the alliance raid story.

I was under the impression that it foreshadowed our role as the 14th seat Azem and that we still had our unsundered powers in a way. After all, we used them in the Warrior of Light trial.

And the beeping is probably tied to the events of 6.0. I won't say what if you haven't gotten there yet.
