    So, can people try to stay on topic please? there are plenty of threads discussing:
    -the housing issue
    - whether or not current content is challenging enough
    - whether or not EW was challenging enough, was the last boss difficult enough, should future MSQ be more challenging, yada yada

    If this thread gets diluted with all kinds of side conversations no one is going to be able to take the original intent of this thread seriously, and i do still hold out some hope that feedback from healers will be read.

    I am on topic, this is part of why healing is boring. Our kits in tandem with content that doesn't require them is exacerbating the problem of healer design being lackluster.

    It helps explain why it's more and more obvious to more and more people. One can't even pretend they're doing something engaging as healer.

    I also find the new PvP actions to be pretty fun; it feels like there was an entirely different design and development team behind the healer jobs for that part of the game. Even if it does still need some balancing in areas, I’m having fun, so kudos to that group for sure.

    Frankly i have plenty of fun playing sage and defenitly don't want it to become more busy that being said i admit that when i play white mage for a long period of time, i tend to nose dive.

    More DPS option variety wouldn’t affect people who already don’t like to DPS; it would just improve fun for people with lots of downtime.

    I used to main scholar, and then it just remained the same. Stagnant. Stripped of its interesting bits and left with very little attention. Determined to be good as is by everyone I talked to who didn't play scholar. I don't doubt some people still derive pleasure from it but it's so stale in a way I couldn't deal with. White mage seemed kinda fun but fuck does that wear out fast. AST was my last bastion and honestly I still like AST because it's a fun fortune teller class and that's fun to me, but the attitude about healing when complaints come up really sucked my desire to make my own fun right out. Sage is okay. I'm sure there's more that could be done. I did dive straight into it after I realized it was just where the interesting bits of SCH were going. I just don't feel motivated to heal anymore. It seems both disincentivized and disrespected and I'd rather not feel like everyone resents my presence as I clean up whatever mess they blame me for.

    Honestly a lot of it can boil down to personal taste, and people seem to keep getting the impression that discontented healers are asking for an all or nothing fix to make them happy, when really it's that more highly skilled healers have been underserved as a demographic in a way tanks or dps don't see. There must be a way to balance out the broad gulf of engagement found in between sprout healer and ultimate healer. Those of us in the middle just want to play the game too. There's obviously a spectrum of healing skill and enjoyment to be found, but from the sounds of it the dev team thinks of healing as something that holds them back, as they largely play and focus on tanking and dps, whose roles are hindered by the need to be healed. Healers are just expected to be tagalong damage control and otherwise left with nothing meaningful from the people who design how our roles work.

    Sure, i wouldn't mind if they merged some healing spell and add let's say off gcd attack spell or let's be crazy new way to use spell like holding a key to enhance potency (and visual) of instant cast etc etc ...

    Something that incentivizes ways to enhance ourselves and our party would be amazing. Heals that react or expend when another spell is used or something... Just something that feels like the things we do add up to more than just one button spam and overhealing.

    I'm starting to think that whoever designs these jobs tend to be wild+crazy in its PvP iteration, but turns coward+weak when it comes to PvE design.

    At this point I'd rather healers not get called healers but instead get called support. It's kinda dumb that there's litterally a problem with healers n they ignore it. And not in a way that shows respect either.
