Totally understand that but my gut feeling is they are going to fix it and just say enter again. The first thing they need to do is identify every plot that had only 1 bid and lost to zero, and hand over the plot to the sole winner.
If there were multiple entries and no winner they should reroll.
I don't want to hear about how it's all too hard, and you can try again in a week, or how if you accepted your money back it's too bad, or any other excuses.
I'd say i'm shocked. But honestly. At this point. I'm not. This just proves they ARE going to do something if peoples millions of gil aren't being given backNot necessarily. Rather than making the tickets count from 0, it looks like there was an extra entry (ticket [0]) in the lotteries because someone forgot to tell the lottery program to exclude [0] when a ticket (which would be [1]) entered the data pool. That would explain why it displays "There were no participants in this lottery" if 0 was selected, since a lottery that has no entries would automatically roll [0] and return that string.
So if you had 4 people enter one lottery for a plot, it would normally be a 25% chance of winning - but it was actually 20% because ticket [0] was included.
This may be wrong though, because apparently people are now reporting they're not getting their refunds from 0 rolls because the lottery is saying that there were no participants and therefore no refund can be given.
I already took my money back from the bug but if someone else wins it that isn't fair if they kept their money on it. This is a fiasco and people are getting angry myself included
SE just posted this on JP Lodestone:
It's basically just:
"We know there is an issue and we're reviewing and investigating the data and it will take some time."
according to a Japanese friend.
Tickets SHOULD go 1 2 3 4 5 6 etc. You know this, just using example. If 6 won, but there WAS an error like the other guy stated, next up would have gone back around to 1. not a ticket that didn't exist.
Unless you're one of the people that lost out on a house and now have to face more competition. Then it's infinitely less fair to you.I agree. I think a full roll-back would create an even bigger mess. Too many moving parts. If they could find a way to only reroll those plots that showed 0, that would be nice....but the amount of finesse needed for that seems to be lacking around these parts. I feel the "best" way they can do it is to apologize/grovel profusely and fix their system for the next round. :X

Someone needs to be fired. How dare you drag this new content for weeks on end, a whole data centre are homeless in limsa and you 1. dont consider the small population of Materia to do an appropriate % of FC/Personal. 2, do not test your lottery system for quirks like this. 3...wtf would you release this brand new system to conclude at a time wher you're not at work?? How is this making any sense?
We're gamers who love your game but this is such a low ball it's insulting.
They're going to have unclaimed houses rerolled, maybe 2 weeks free sub for everyone and sweep it under the table. 100% the approach.
I feel like that's all they can say at the moment. It's been only a few hours, so they need to discuss what happened, and how to go about it.
Take some time? Oh hell no, I had to wait and I refuse to wait any longer I want my mansion now. I don't feel like playing until this problem is resolved
