I watched a random youtube video about some addon that makes the game so much better. It did have an addon that removes animation lock to speed up gameplay. At the time I thought what an advantage that would be for pvp. Just checked my history to find video again looks like youtube has deleted it for some reason.

If you're talking about XIVAlexander, a lot of raiders use it to eliminate the animation delay due to ping. This sort of addon wouldn't exist if they just implemented this basic feature into the game itself.
