I got to say, the new changes to Samurai honestly feels very horrific comparing to how it was before.

I’ve been testing it out to see the difference, since I was expecting them to remove Kaiten and reduce the damage for both versions of Namikiri (such as decreasing the potency from 1350 to 1150) while making it an auto crit, and also increasing the damage for everything else by some to make up for the loss of damage. What I saw was… well, honestly, it was all VERY confusing for me.

Overall, Samuai now does far LESS damage than before, even with the very minimal buffs to most of the other skills. It all feels incredibly slow and pointless with the changes!

One example is that if both Namikiri crits, with the first one being buffed by Kaiten, then it would do a little over 120k with both damages combined. Now it sometimes doesn’t even reach 60k half the time.

I’ve compared the job with Reaper as well, and even though my Samurai job has the better gear, Reaper now greatly outperforms it in damage. While I know Reaper is already a strong job, it honestly never did more damage than my Samurai job did with my builds. So if my Reaper build isn’t right and it STILL does more damage, then that in itself should speak volumes.

Does anyone even know WHY these changes were made? Other than them claiming it was for ‘button clutter’? If they want to fix a job that has that issue, then they really need to look again at Dragoon. That class has so many things it honestly gives me a headache!
