A very short ping spike than the normal 2-3 hours. Only 1.5 hours before it dialed back to normal and still is as of this moment. Going to keep this bumped as well as the other threads up just so hopefully Square can just notice (even if it's so slightly..)

March 22nd and the ping is still unbearable at night, especially for east coast players like me. It's to the point where I would probably have a better experience playing on EU data centers rather than NA, which is frankly unacceptable.

Seriously Square get with it and pressure NTT to update their aging nodes for the love of the twelve. Even the VPN is not working anymore, must keep switching routes every. single. day. All friends are experiencing issues making healer/tank nearly impossible to play. 420 mil, time to hire competent sysadmins and stop blaming shortages. There was 56 week lag time on acquiring new hardware, it is not unobtainable only there will be delays. Now they are installing new servers in CA when the issue is that there simply are not enough entry nodes to service so many players maaahhh!

22ms allllllll the way across Comcast ibone until you hit glorious NTT where the ping is high and the nodes smell like burning.

I can not remember who else this has happened to on Twitch but I remember someone who streamed contacting comcast to fix a node. They denied it being an issue until covid when so many people were working from home. It was only than when they got multiple complaints before they did anything about it.

Look I want to play the game, my vpn is also timing out no matter what routes I chose now only subsiding depending on time of day people connecting and many other factors. Connecting to Canada is impossible now and that was how I would get good ping to ffxiv. I can only imagine how it is for people with no vpn and live in Canada timing out randomly for no reason possibly getting strikes on their accounts for disconnecting. If that ever happens to me as much as I love this game I am never buying another copy or subscribe again and you will lose me a customer. There is nothing I can physically do to fix this because it a node in California. I can not contact the service provider myself because I am not a customer. Square is the customer. Call them and tell them to investigate why a ton of people are getting timed out from that location and to check to see if there is anything broken and than fix it. I also will not pay for a game I can not play.

This has caused loss progress in potd, random disconnects but only within dungeons. Out in the main world hub save for maybe one hour last week I was lagging in the over world but never kicked with the 9006 error only when going into an instance leading me to believe it is one of the connections to the instance server. I will post the trace route again when it is actually timing out but this is the route I usually am being routed through. The only thing of note is the massive ping increase when entering the NTT network.

Also for informational purposes this will happen differently for people within the same household using the same exact connection. One of us will dc and the others connection will be perfectly fine which is great for informing the team what is actually happening and the person will be back. I can infer that each character connects to the instance server through a separate channel. This has happened to multiple friends and their partners during random duties and random times of day, not even prime time.
