Why is it lately I've been getting tanks in roulette that don't aoe?

Lately a lot of them will stick with single-target to get aggro, no ranged, no provoke, nada. Died several times as a healer doing roulettes the other day because all of the mobs plus their grandparents were on me like a stack of hotcakes.

Please tanks, please use your aoes.

Several hours ago, ran the fastest Frontline Roulette ever: Onsal. Match ended in less than 7m.

Our team (Yellow) had the 2nd place. Red was 100% throwing the game. I noticed this when they made no advance toward any nodes and just went straight to throw bodies at Blue, which apparently already amassed dozen of BH5s in less than 3m.

Look at what mogtome had done to my FL runs, ugh…

Sadly this is quite normal when Moogle Treasure Trove event is on, I still remember the horror when they put the tomes in Ct raid

This happened a while ago, but the memory of it has resurfaced for some reason.

Queued into alliance roulette, got Orbone monastery.
Multiple new people
Many deaths
Fights took forever
Nearly wiped on every single boss

Now, I'm a patient person, so I don't mind all of that.
However, what I cannot forgive is the WHM whose raise macro kept spamming alliance chat with:

*Glomps <t> back to life*
You're welcome UwU ♪

That macro went off dozens of times every fight!

Meanwhile whenever I tank I spam my AOEs because I have miny panig attacks when I lose aggro on something.

Oh the joys of late-game dungeons.

As for a tale: Got the lighthouse math-boss alliance raid and we had one player, new, who had such a volatile reaction to be told to stop dragging a mechanic onto players that he threw every slur in the book at us.

All because someone asked him to not touch the clocks.

That is one reason I avoid the frontline roulette during these events.

Yup yup I know I know Dun Scaith is part of moogle event and you must actually try in there. Many are running this for first time neow but for the love of the twelve mitigate those bosses. When the big cast bar fills up and all the health goes bye bye that is the tank buster. Three runs of that place for alliance roulette with no mitigation tanks.. With so so many players seemingly doing this stuffs for the event and tanking booku damage healers have no ogcds to spare for zero mit tanks.

Last night: Tower of Zot via leveling roulette. Queued as a GNB with my SGE friend (remember that obnoxious healer friend of mine? They're way better now! Yay!). We got paired with a SMN and... a weird a$$ DRG. From the start the SMN had been skipping and stuttering around, so I take a generic guess that they're probably having some connection problem. The DRG on the other hand... uh..

Packs are dying very slowly. I figured something was wrong with one of the DPS, then I spot the smoking fire: it's the DRG. Single target everything. I did not say anything, not even to my friend in the linkshell and just went on, hoping that they will somehow change their way of playing. SMN miraculously skipping around into safe zones just fine, but I can only imagine how bad the gameplay on their side was.

Moving on to second wall pull before Sanduruva, I figured a wipe would happen right there. Indeed, we wiped. I ran out of cooldowns. This time I mentioned this in the linkshell. Although because at least 1/3 of that pull was gone, 2nd attempt shouldn't gone as bad. I decided not to say anything again into the party. But here's when it start looking weird: the DRG suddenly start AoEing properly. It's as if they have telepathic capability to 'smell' my trash talking in my private linkshell! It feels like a different person just hijacked their character. This went on until final boss where they suddenly back to their former, lousy gameplay. Sometimes they'd just sit next to the sister and... use 1-3 weaponskills before idling with their auto attacks. They take some vuln stacks here and there but needless to say manage to not take any lethal damage (I saw Second Winds and Bloodbath regularly used). SMN's connection also didn't help. They died 6 times to each of sisters' Delta Attack. Yes, the sisters commenced Delta Attack six times. Their carcass was even porting around, it was hilarious to watch.

Not to my surprise, the game decides to display their terrible sense of humor by dropping the Magus Sisters minion.... and giving it to the DRG with a 99 loot roll (I got 92). Many thanks, RNGesus.

Daaaamn. When I notice something like that I usually View Search Info on the player. There's two things it shows: they've either boosted the Job while having others at 30-ish, in which case I'm incredulous, or they have other Jobs at around the same level, which makes me even more incredulous.

Strange that they'd suddenly switch to great play midway though. Maybe they were reading the required rotation alongside?

That was one time I did not check their search info so I have nothing to guess. I would hazard a guess that it's probably some kids or pets aggro behind that monitor!
