i will gladly take 1.0 over what the combat is now hell id even take ffxi back if they just upgread graphics and put it on ps5People keep saying this, but I just don't buy into it. There's always going to be similarities in basic setups, but my SAM feels nothing like my MNK just like my MNK feels nothing like my RPR just like my RPR feels nothing like my DRG. I can't comment on healers because I can't stand healing, but all the melee dps playing different enough and none of the magic dps play similarly at all.
So what? That literally applies to every game. Every subtlety rogue in WoW plays exactly the same with only minor differences in talent choices. Every fury marauder in swtor plays exactly the same with only minor variations in utilities. Your base skills and rotation are going to be the same always. This applies to every single tab target mmo.
And if you wanna go to the extreme of your blue mage example. FFXIV 1.0 had a cross class system where you could basically use almost any skill from any class.....it was horrible. In 2.0 the leftovers of that system was such a broken mess due to the how open the cross class system was that at certain points the base class was stronger than the job and you were REQUIRED to level certain classes to get specific buffs for your main. Getting rid of that system was the best thing they ever did.
There's nothing wrong with XIV's system. If you want broken builds go play something like lost ark.
Dear God no....FFXIV 1.0 was BAD. You clearly didn't play it.
Also, FFXI? Really? The game that does the exact same thing with static jobs? I mean that game you literally idle for 5 minutes and then pop a weaponskill and just use your subjob for random perks.....or just 99% of the playerbase doing /nin back in the day because lul utsusemi. Why would you ever want to return to that game? FFXI holds a special place in my heart, but my goodness that game was a GRIND and its combat was.....not really all that engaging.
