I was tempted by this.. Very much.. But then i was like no thank you keep it as it it with more variations.. The is no mention of vieras in the lore so far

Theres no mention of alot of things. Hell do we even know what Ishgard looks like inside? Let alone the unexplored outterlands to the southeast and north west and the great seas beyond??

I vote for mixed races. In game lore it make a lot of sense, there are already cases of love interest of two different species. It will make more credible that Eorzea is a continent rich in cultures and species. and the possibilities of customitation could be endless ^^.

I find it funny that one of the examples in the poll is miqo´te with lalafell, maybe it is me, but this two species are usually paired together, aren´t they? And you know, when you think about the miqo´tes in the miners guild and the lalafells owners of the guild and the commentary of one of the miqo´tes about how the owner chose his lovers...

Though were talking about "races" and "species"
The races all seem to stem into humanoid species
So logically they are both race and species, thus they can not produce fertile offspring
so we may one day see a halfling, but we wont be playing it.

As far as mixed races go, SE's lore department already touched it in the forums:

Question 2: Can different races crossbreed?

Answer 2: Yes, but it is rare...and often difficult due to cultural differences, etc. which is why you don't see it often. The lore team has informed me that there will be future quests/events that touch on this and other issues, such as love and marriage.

I chose Viera as it's an established Final Fantasy race.

That being said, wouldnt mind other races from tactics games (Bangaa, Nu Mou, Playable Moogles) - much different from the current "variation on humans" type races and more standalone.

Sounds like they would look very similar to Miqote, I'd rather see a new and different beastmen type race added.
