When the game is hard, you complain.Tbh the game itself gets BORING af to play after a while, because there is only one way to play, no variety. At this point hitting buttons out of the given order you hit them for over 2-6 years is all good, even if it is spam. That is a testiment to the rigid, stiff as cardboard class design.
When the game is easy, you complain.
Now tell me, why should anyone take you seriously ?
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Yeah. You'd do your PB as normal. You'd refresh your buff and DoT with Bootshine to use the proc as normal. When you're not doing these, you'd just spam Dragon Kick voiding 100% of your flank positionals which is pretty brain dead if you ask me.
There is a lot going on other then Dragon Kick but for most of the rotation it still is mostly Dragon Kick. The only time you don't Dragon Kick is reapply buffs, DPS CDs and Chakra/Blitz attacks.
And you are doing about the same damage because of it and aren't worried about where to stand. And it's much easier to pull off over Paradox Mage.
And generally before PB you use a Dragon Kick for your Bootyshine and then BS > DK > BS for your Lunar and do a DK > TS > D for your Solar.
Once you hit lvl50 on Monk True Strike and Snap Punch become dead skills.
Kick, Pu- KICK, it's all in the mind.
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
As hilarious as this is to see MNK spamming one button most of the time, I do applaud the community's ingenuity to put the job design team in their place. It's obviously gonna get fixed but maybe removing the positionals on a 320 potency skill wasn't a good idea after all.
$100 says the positional doesn't come back. It'll lose some potency. They'll either give the potency to SP, or not give it back at all, which is fine by me cause they shouldn't have buffed monk in the first place. As hilarious as this is to see MNK spamming one button most of the time, I do applaud the community's ingenuity to put the job design team in their place. The truly hilarious thing here is that this actually seems to be effective at pretty much all levels after 50. I've finally gotten around to leveling monk again, and I actually seem to do less DPS when playing the job the intended way.
*You gain the effect of Disciplined Fist*
I KICK.
Like seriously, who the heck are you? The game itself is great for the story. The actual mechanics and overall class deisng is shambolic and boring. Too repititive and unrepsonsive, REALLY noticeable in modes meant to show off skill (pvp). The game can be good, but it would need a whole new engine and netcode.
