Imo FFXIV is the best game on the market and has my favorite story in gaming, even tho some of the characters might be flawed ( *cough* Y'shtola's lack of development *cough* ) I still think they've done an incredible job at building them into the MSQ especially for a MMO.

My biggest issue with the game is probably the gearing tbh, it's too slow and annoying at times imo.
I especially don't like the tomestone pricing of a lot of stuff ( why do I need two weeks for gloves? I am 10 tomestones off... Why is the weekly cap not at least 500? And also I should be able to buy the upgrade items for tomestones imo. ).
The books should also be able to scale down imo, if I don't need the gear from book 3 for example I should be able to use them to buy stuff that book 1 and 2 can buy too.

One of the unique things about FFXIV is the Jobs and being able to play all of them on the same character, but the gearing doesn't reflect that.
I get having limits so you can't gear up in a single week but at the same time it really sucks when you can't even get one piece a week because your RNG is horrible.
I have some kind of a Savage curse where I only roll either 20-30 or lower it's ridiculous at this point in P2S this week I rolled a 4 and 5.................
I spent a whole week trying to clear P3S through pf too which was a complete nightmare ( not because of the fight, but because of the people ) and I rolled my usual 20-30 on everything doesn't exactly feel that great even if I was happy to FINALLY get the kill.
Imo you should pretty much be guaranteed a piece every week at least, I honestly don't even like the thing with rolling against people it feels very archaic to me and it's just frustrating I don't find it fun at all.
Imo the loot should drop and then you should be allowed to pick, they could still have the books to incentivize people to keep clearing later floors too.

It is designed that way to keep you playing the game and paying for a sub. But I agree, there is no reason why it would take 7 weeks of doing the normal mode raid to get a weapon. Now you can get it from the second savage fight, but not every want to do that content, and not every one wins the token. I would go as far to say that even the token system particularly in Savage raid content is drawn out. I should not have to clear P2S for 2 months to get a piece of gear, I should not have to clear P1S for 1 month to get an accessory But again this is all designed in reality to keep you subbed longer, and to pad out the gearing because the next savage section won't be here until September or something.

I remember people got really mad when they made loot personal in Diablo 3, but personally I just find that loot just dropping like in Diablo 2 lead to really toxic behaviour and frustration ( people just waiting for the moment boss dies to port in and take all of it asap ).
It's not really the same with loot rolls but I really don't see the purpose of it.
With mounts etc then alright I guess, altho I'd still prefer it to be personal.
But I think it's just a really outdated thing with gear.

I don't really feel a rush or anything either when I win, I got the mount from the first EX on my first clear after that my luck has basically run out tho and I just keep rolling 20-30 or even lower on almost everything in Savage.
40 is basically high for me at this point.
But when I won it I didn't feel a rush or a lot of excitement, sure I was happy about it but lets just say that I did get a rush out of it.
Does it really outweigh all of the months of frustration when you don't win?
I don't really think so I think that it leads to significantly more frustration and makes it less fun, and in worst case scenarios in statics it can lead to drama.

There would still be risks involved too if you got a guaranteed piece of your choosing, the chests could still drop like they do now but just be personal.
So you could still risk it for one of the later floors and hope that what you want drops or take something early.
I just think you should be guaranteed something at least.
