She's clearly weaker than us, this is a bit of a strange thing to say too when people complain a lot that she has fake died multiple times.
She failed at bringing herself out of Flow twice, failed with her shield against Zenos, failed against Emet, lies to people about her name, has to seek help from her old master even tho she's the '' master of magic '' in our group.
They also acknowledge that she's kind of an asshole in Shadowbringers too she has a major attitude problem for a while.

There are millions of people who show no reaction when they fail, since they take it as a learning experience and move on to finding ways to improve themselves. So, why is it bad she has no reaction to failing?

'' Fake dying '' isn't unique to her and I don't really count the two times she used Flow.
First time Thancred went through it too and got out while she didn't.
Second time Emet was around and it made sense he'd help ( especially with EW in mind I'd say ), if he hadn't been around she would've been stuck.
I mean even with Y'shtola getting almost killed by Zenos, Alisae gets almost killed by Fordola in the same expansion.
Y'shtola spends significantly more time out of commission than Alisae does too it's basically a meme how she has just been gone for almost two expansions.

She can empathize with people she's sorta like a younger Matoya.
Matoya is an asshole a lot of the time too but it's clear she does care just because someone isn't uwu doesn't mean that they lack empathy.
Y'shtola has been underutilized by the writers and hasn't really developed much at all.
But that doesn't make her a Mary Sue which is the premise of your thread.

Just because you dislike a character or whatever doesn't mean you can just randomly throw out all of these buzzwords and have it make sense.

i have said it time and time different things appeal to different people and in this game just like any other well written novel characters will appeal to the player differently. you say she has not had character development but to me she went from a meh just another scion to being one of my favs. hell pretty sure she was advocating putting me down like a rabid dog on multiple occasions in shadowbringers and even sent me to bed without dinner and i can only laugh about that. pretty sure she is the only one i can say i would let get away with that, lol. that doesnt happen without character development. face time and story revolving around them doent mean its wasnt there but i too would not complain about more with her and who knows with her *********spoiler************* now delving into research about traveling through the rifts that can only lead to the possibilities.

The end of EW made me lose a ton of respect for the writers because it shows me that they don't have any guts in their writing...."oh we might make some players mad if XXXXX dies".

End of EW? For me, it was back in Heavensward, where they decided 'haha, Nanamo isn't dead, it was all just Lolorito's keikaku, everything is fine now. Bye!'
Also, I wouldn't mind if Y'shtola just moved over to the First full-time.

We're a decade into the game's active development. If it has not happened by this point, maybe it's time to cut losses and get rid of the stagnation altogether rather than force characters with more potential and depth to either stand aside or be killed off in place of the Scions.

I'm indifferent to Y'shtola. If I had to pick an order to kill each of the Scions one by one, she'd be one of the last to go. My main beef with her is the multiple fake deaths which effectively reduce her - and the rest of the Scions - to parodies of themselves.
