This has always been such an odd reason to have the hairstyles be locked the way they are. Like, it would be one thing if the game or ancillary lore material called attention to it as being an in-world thing. "People of the X race are often seen with Y hairstyle because..." etc... But no. I have yet to find any sort of text that indicates Y or Z has to be locked to X race because it is culturally relevant to said race.I think that it's high time they unlocked the hairstyles.
I get that they wanted the races to have their own cultural styles and that's fine I can respect that to some extent.
But we're so deep into the game now that I think it doesn't make sense.
From a lore pov I own some of the ones from the mogstation and I simply think of it as people in the game sharing it with me or my character taking inspiration.
When I was playing NG+ for EW for example I bought Lyse's Stormblood outfit for SHB and in the narrative I thought of it as a parting gift.
I think it makes sense and there's no real reason anymore why races can't have access to all of it.
Family Medicine doctor.
Constantly learning.
Signature art by @simanokoB on Twitter. Thank you!

I'd rather just have new hairstyles altogether instead of more old hairstyles being wider access.I think that it's high time they unlocked the hairstyles.

Mind you, I'd much prefer the cake & to eat it too- and get both completely newly designed hairstyles inspired by many of the ones posted here as well as other races having further access to the old hairstyles. But realistically, people get inspired from each other in many ways, fashion being one of the most influential ways- so, I don't see a reason why other races wouldn't have the same hairstyles or similar to

It is odd, especially when like Yugiri for example with her very long twin tails hair- it's so darn cute & realistically other people would find it cute. These folks then become inspired & copy it in various ways because that's how fashion works. So, you'd see people growing their hair out or just styling it very similarly to Yugiri. This has always been such an odd reason to have the hairstyles be locked the way they are. Same goes with Gaia- and I'm bringing up NPCs with their distinct hair because it would be copied by other people wanting something very similar
As goes with other hairstyles as mentioned!

Yeah, some of the Lost Ark hair selection is pretty nice. So far, my main, and now my (first) alt, both have very long flowing styles.![]()

More hairstyles that have bangs for female character

Don't most of them already have bangs though...?

Yes~ but alot of the placement of bangs isn't great or could be designed better
Mostly I'd like to see bangs swooped to the side across the forehead like this instead of in ffxiv, the bangs are all bunched up in the front or split in the middle and it leaves alot to be desired
I know with limitations the hairs won't be as majestic as they are in lost ark but they can still look nice
