Even the best of idea's have their flawsProbably the only workable solution is to get trust brought down into all the old content (much though I hate that idea). That however would come with the side effect that you would have people for whom this is their first MMO who then get to max level and have no idea how to play in group content with actual people. Trusts really are not good training for that.![]()
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
I really personally dont think it is the best idea. Best Idea for me is something along the lines of the following.
If the person watching the cutscene is a first timer in the dungeon then everyone is forced to wait. If they have ever previously watched that cutscene on any character on that account then the other players are free to pull early. That is fair to both sides.
I hate the entire idea of trusts but they might well end up being the only workable solution.
..so you have half in the fight and half in a cutscene and thats a...good idea?If they have ever previously watched that cutscene on any character on that account then the other players are free to pull early. That is fair to both sides.
I think they mean if there is a new person bonus, then others aren't allowed to pull before cutscene is over, but if a person is a sprout, but has seen the cutscene before, then everyone is free to pull even if that person wants to watch it again.
True. I'll have to think on that.
I guess "being decent to other folks" is just something that is just hard to do for some.
Alliance Roulette is the reason most alliance raids even happen. Saying, "oh you're doing roulette so you shouldn't expect fast runs" is just dumb.I mean you joined the raid knowing there would potentially be people new to it, the game even tells you when someone is new to the duty. If you have a problem with it then don't join pugs and make your own parties of people who already have or don't care. Yeah, the content is years old, but for many people it's brand new. Especially seeing as how we've had a surge of new players lately. Some of you forget not everyone has been here for years. Your problem began the moment you started playing a story-focused game, que'd for pug content knowing full well there would be people who, surprise surprise actually want to experience the story in a story-focused game (shocking I know), then got mad about it. Obviously, as someone who's done it already I prefer to not have to wait for people especially when I don't have a lot of time, and when I get a group full of people who auto-skip and we just do the content it's nice, but I accept the reality that I will sometimes have to wait, and respect the people who are going through the story for the first time.
The bottom line is that people pulling the boss doesn't kick new players out of cutscenes anyway so your entire argument is moot. New people just watch the cutscene and join the battle 10-20 seconds later, usually before any mechanics have even happened. Just get over it.
Y'know, the amount of gatekeeping horse puckies that is occurring in this thread is absolutely disgusting. I don't give a rat's behind what side of this, or any, argument you are on, if you tell someone that they should not be allowed to play this game or join certain content because they do not play the way you want them to, you are not being a "decent human being". Maybe you should take a good, hard look at yourself before you decide to try and dictate how other people should be behaving.
