The Aurum Vale requires the Darkhold quest is a bad idea.

Everybody's ignoring the fact that you can now get GRAND COMPANY SEALS in exchange for DARKHOLD GEAR DROPS! People will be all over Darkhold again. There won't be any trouble with finding people to with, especially after server merges.

So pretty much I missed the boat on Darkhold. It took me about a year to get my first class to level 50 due to the fact most people I started the game with quit after a month, I had nobody to exp group with. I did not have a level 50 when Darkhold was out.

Now that I do I was looking forward to doing the new raids since people would be actually be doing them now.

Raid attunements are a pretty bad idea and for someone new to the game it just creates a higher barrier of entry. This leads to if your trying to join a linkshell or raid group you will basically be auto declined because you don't have attunements. I seen this happen in so many other games.

People do not want to help someone who doesn't have a clear for old content run it. It took over 2 hours of shouting to get the level 25 Ifrit clear and basically all people had to do for that was just stand there while I hit Ifrit 3 times and he fell over. I can only imagine how long it would take to form a Darkhold group where some actual work is required.

There will be alot of people wanting to do it since you can farm equipment from there for Company Seals now. Also come to Sargantas.

I was in a similar boat after all my XI friends went back to XI, so I do sympathize. I think you should withhold judgement until after the serer merge. People on my server still do darkhold on a regular basis, and with some of the new content in 1.21 there is even more reason to go back and redo that old stuff. I even see shouts for darkhold on a regular basis.

SE can't make all the content easy to access; they need some stuff that makes you build a list of accomplishments before it becomes open to you. Right now since there is a real shortage of content for everyone I suppose we are seeing more stuff that you can do just by reaching a certain level introduced as a result of that shortage. Once they have a good amount of content, and a much larger player base I hope we start seeing more stuff with lots of prerequisites. Some of that stuff should have super hard prereqs.

are you seriously suggesting this game needs to be easier? oh my god. ONE of the rank FIFTY optional dungeons requires for you to have completed one before it. my god man.

the way i look at it, if you cant find a shell you arent looking hard enough, then again on my server its never been as hard cuz we actualy have some good advertising going on for shells so people have a way to research it without shouting

Really? You think right now, with everyone getting ready to move servers and the population the way it is, its super easy for anyone to get a GOOD shell? Also, jumping into a new shell and then immediatly asking for help with a bunch of stuff from people that you just met, not exactly very tactful. I get what your saying, believe me, I just dont think its as easy on every server right now as your making it out to be. Was on last night with a whopping 250 people total on my server. Not exactly ripe pickings in the choose a new linkshell department. Will probably have a better time of it after the merge happens in a few weeks.

Gotta agree with the OP though, don't really want to run a buncha dungeons I am not interested in just to get to the one I am. What can you do though? Not really up to us.

People are doing Darkhold now for the chest. So you'll be able to get a party. Just tag along when someone needs one of their AF pieces. No biggy.
