I'm sorry if this is wrong place to ask but I just want my voice and so many players be heard
every time this topic is brought , we get shutdown~
I'm still sad, in 2022 , it's really hard , after 10 years for we , Wol from SEA , legally cannot play this game? we still need to break tos, fake our address just to play and pay the game that we love?

are we not exist ?we are not asking for DC /servers , can we at least get to register and put our address , why is Singapore is officially listed , while Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines and more is not officially listed

Singapore is not NA , Brunei Darussalam is not EU , we are from SEA , and in 2022 all we wanted is to be able to play without worrying we break ToS , or cannot get official support if we submit a ticket~

if there is a contest , we can get disqualified even if we won~ we can't play from PS or Steam because legally not supported ~ ~ can we not get error when making payments because legally we are not in the list~without 3rd party stuff

we pay our sub, can we just get our country listed? can ask just to be acknowledged as players . are we not part of the Wol family ?

please MR Naoki Yoshida~ please SQEX !

Wan Hazmer is a Malaysian ex game designer from SQEX , even he cannot register his home address ~

This probably isn't SE's fault. You're not allowed to just sell anything you want anywhere you want. I'm sure SE wold love to have a worldwide store where anyone in the world could just buy the game and play, but it's not that simple. Many countries have specific rules or licensing issues that prevent, or at least make it cost prohibitive to run the game there. Places like China and Korea have enough players to make dedicated servers worth the investment, but that's probably not true for most other places that can't use the 'global' (JP/NA/EU) server sets.

You mean by banning them, right? They've explicitly come out and stated that they're breaking ToS on an offical forum.

Joking aside, I doubt Yoshi-P can do anything about it. He's a game developer on a single game within the company. He's not the one at the top making those decisions. As Brightamethyst stated; there's probably a lot of legal issues that go into this.

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure they don't read these forums. This is primarily a place for the players to talk and have discussions with other players. This isn't a direct line to the developers, much less Yoshi-P himself.

Ps. I get that you're trying to be supportive, but you shouldn't give them false hope. It's cruel to make them think that their hopes will be fulfilled, when in reality they very likely won't. It's better to be honest with people than to try to save their feelings.

As Brightamethyst said, likely the problem is your local government and not SE. Some countries have extremely restrictive laws regarding foreign business and/or game content.

It's up to the residents of your country to encourage your legislators to change the laws that obstruct foreign countries from doing business there.

nah, my country and SE has done business , no FF games got ban or censored, sqex has done a couple event here in malaysia , literally like 90% of games can be play and purchase here~ we even can register and get support from blizzard , cause our country is listed.

WoW, SWTOR, New World & even BDO wont allow you to register your acct as SEA country.. But guess what? all those MMO and more allow you to register and play as SEA player is listed ~

Because of language, localisation, weird copyright laws, and weird ratings laws, and commercial reasons, media of all types is normally regionally split.

When I worked for Disney we divided the world up into regional distributors. Each distributor was given a group of countries that they took complete responsibility for. They set the release dates locally, they even decided if they wanted to take up the show.

I'd say - as long as the game isn't "Tidak Diluluskan Untuk Tayangan" - that this might be a similar situation. If this is the case, then Malaysia has been given to another country, and that country is not interested in allowing/supporting/localising the game. There are two closed regions I know of, Korea which is distributed by the company Actoz Soft CO., LTD. and 盛大 (SDO) in China.

Further backing up this being a distribution contract is the recent clearup of addresses. To me that smells like a distributor is tugging on their contract - maybe in reainess for FFXVI or some other property from SE.

As much as free trade world wide would be good for consumers, commerical contracts like this, especially when they might be very old and have catch-alls on future property in them are incredibly difficult to change. Changes to remove a country from one distributor and give to to another can cost many, many millions of USD.

Australia, for example, is assigned to SE's European operations, however we do have our own online store with nothing at all on it. We will get our own DC, but we will be part of Europe forever, which is maybe why we are in Eurovision too.

I doubt Yoshi-P has much sway in this, this is likely far bigger than him and going to fall into the CEO of SE.
