actually he did, he instead just blamed an entire community that follows a streamer, that is just as toxic as the OP did in grouping the wow migrants."Let's not group all WoW refugees in the same box, but refer to their MMO as an insane asylum"
Thanks for not contributing to the toxic "us vs them" mentality in the XIV community!
Seriously, the amount of hate/fear going on because somebody plays a different video game in this community is really unhealthy. You don't see this anywhere else.
Would folks stop making threads like this. It only creates an argument for something that is mostly nonexistent beyond a handful of players.
C'mon now, don't be so toxic. Don't you know the people who do well are supposed to not care about clearing and instead constantly make new learning parties for others who haven't practiced as much? We have to let the entire community see first phase in its entirety, and only then move on to the next.“I’m doing this for 2 days please no more failures” They have every right to look for people that won't keep dying to the same thing 67 times. Not everyone could make it into savage statics, but that doesnt make them bad or even average players. Some of them are still very very good. and they'd like to match up with others who are very good yet displaced too so that they together can get that all bosses clear in the first week just like their peers. They should 100% be able to. They just need to meet the right people. and I'm sorry to say it, but most of you won't be the right people lol.

After the majority of my time on Earth having been spent playing WoW, I feel I have some authority to state the WoW community is by in large, indeed, an asylum. Where else can I go for entertainment to have someone tell me to kill myself and witness casual racist remarks for a daily basis?"Let's not group all WoW refugees in the same box, but refer to their MMO as an insane asylum"

How do you people know it was a "Wow player" that caused an unpleasant interaction? Are you asking them?
"Excuse me, but I just saw your PF listing and would like to know if you are a former WoW player."
As people have already pointed out this kind of thing has been around for quite awhile.
It is just a baseless assumption that every obnoxious player must have come from WoW. I am also highly skeptical of the assertion that there has been a huge increase in "toxic WoW attitudes". I certainly haven't noticed this supposed change in players behavior.
Too many characters to quote your post, sorry but:
I understand where you are coming from. I dont really fit into either group you describe, or perhaps more aptly to say I fit into both? I came hoping to find a substitute for what I used to get from WoW, partly because of the hype XIV got in 2021 even before the Asmongold exodus. What I found was something that I had no idea could still exist. A beautiful game with a beautiful story, and much nicer people most everywhere I go. I won't regurgitate the story most have probably already heard from many streamers, youtubers, and just regular players who came here for whatever reason, and found something really special. I mean I go from a game with a full ignore list, to a new game with an empty one. This is the first and only Final Fantasy game I have ever played. I don't have any investment into the franchise at all. Just this game and the wonderful experiences I have had and hope to continue having. Has it been perfect? Of course not. But Ive had 2 minor bad experiences with players in game since June. In WoW, that would be an afternoon or less.
I came expecting to try it for a weekend, which led to trying until the next WoW patch, which led to trying it until the next expansion. Now I cant imagine ever going back to WoW, even if they made all the changes I think they should.
If you want to quote someone who's written a lot, I think you mean me given what you wrote, it's common here to either delete all but the salient points you're referring to or just type SNIP in the [quote] area so people know who you're replying to.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

If there was a weak point to this game, Id say its definitely these 1997 forums and their website. Again echoing so many others, I struggled just to buy this game due to the website lol. But thanks for letting me know about that feature.area so people know who you're replying to.

Toxicity can take many forms. After the majority of my time on Earth having been spent playing WoW, I feel I have some authority to state the WoW community is by in large, indeed, an asylum. Where else can I go for entertainment to have someone tell me to kill myself and witness casual racist remarks for a daily basis?
I've been part of the FFXIV community for years, and I've had members of this "great" community call me toxic, elitist, tell me to "go back to" a game that I've never played, all because I partake in Savage content. Toxic casualness is a thing, and any time you marginalize a person because of a game they like, or a content they enjoy, that's still you in the wrong.
There are times where I've felt very isolated from the community at large because they all wear these masks of smiling faces, and then turn towards me and say "you're not welcome here". It's happened in every expansion.
