I was expecting something like Ysthola's clothes from the official manga

I think it looks fine and it gives males access to a nice cloak. It fits the game's theme more than yet another contemporary real world/animu glam.

Just throw a sweater and a skirt on and you basically have your Y'shtola glam.

To be fair all the new gear is pretty phoned in. Dresses, Robes, Dragoon knockoff tome gear, copy pasta Greek PvP gear. All of it is rather uninspired.

I imagine Covid and labor issues just made them cut corners on new gear.

Likewise. I can see the cape being a bit of an issue for anyone playing a race with a tail, though as far as aesthetics go...it looks like it fits the game pretty well.
