Wrong. Yoshi P gives into fan demands to much. Fan demands are 90% bad with a huge majority being glamour related and not content related. That is going to be the downfall of FFXIV, it will be the opposite of WoW where they give in to much to stupid things and slack off more and more on content. We are already seeing this with less dungeons per expansion and it has gotten worst with each expansion. Raids are just a boss in a square room where it used to actually have at least something leading into the fights. Class design has become more homogenized with every expansion. You are slowly seeing the downfall begin as we are losing content for what people always want to refer to as "casual content". Last expansion we got 2 zones do to fates in, which we already had 6 of. I don't call that casual content I call it lazy.
Y'all wanted grind upon grind and cried for years about classes being too complex so we suffered 3 rounds of skill pruning and got even less flavor as PvE "hardcores" became the dominant appealed to. The players that have to choose only *one* path the best min/max with no regard to situation or utility.Wrong. Yoshi P gives into fan demands to much. Players in mmo history "made" their own content.
Raiding Stormwind.
RPing in all facets.
Speed running any content available.
Altaholics.
You have such a waste mentality of needing to be entertained with a new toy and throw it away as soon as you get it. Carrot on a stick.
Inb4 people scream that games should always provide new content, we need content that we can REPLAY and give us incentive to redo them. Instead of next new forgettable raid set thrown in the trash at end of the quarter.
GW2? People still have incentive and want to run endlevel content from 2013.
FF14? Ivalice, crystal tower, alexander always talked about always ran.
Ulduar? ICC? Deathwing? Naxx? Siege of Org?
Barren wasteland of mention. FF14 will not yield to "throwaway" toy mentality. This is not the game for you if that is all you want.
I feel we already have that actually. PoTD and HoH could have been updated to have more floors to play, ecen if they didnt add more rewards. It doesnt hurt to maintain content as a whole. And while we're getting updates to the PvP system now, there are many things they could do to make it better. As a whole I don't think players should be punished for wanting replayable content. WoW, even as far back as TBC had a very replayable PvP system, it was just plain fun Rewards aside.

Yoshida-san drives the game. We are just people who enjoy it. He is quite aware of other MMOs having said so in the past, and does see where they failed so he can steer FFXIV in another direction....So I guess my question, and point of this topic is, if Yoshida is willing to learned from WoW, good and bad, why does the community constantly resort to tribalism, over talking to WoW players about what can be done to keep XIV from possibly going down a similar path...
We don't need recently arrived WoW players to make this game into another failure. I, for one, am happy to let YoshiP steer it how he wants. If it stops being a fun story, then other thing are around, if not, then I keep enjoying the game for another 9 years.
やはり、お前は……笑顔が……イイ
A lot of this community came from WoW at its Zenith so yes we do know what we are talking about when it comes to making a great MMO and FF14 has learned those lessons. All of the WoW suggestions tend to be all the same ones that took it from 11 million players down to barely 1 million it is today.
Unless you played during those days do not pretend to lecture us on this topic. The simple concept Yoshida has realized is time played metrics are A HORRIBLEEEEEEE way of measuring success.
While Yoshida is doing a great job of doing what he's been doing, even he himself, has said that XIV players should welcome and understand other MMO players as well. And to Deny people with MMO experience, and possible insight other players have would be foolish in my opinion.Yoshida-san drives the game. We are just people who enjoy it. I've been playing Since Vanilla all the way until Shadowlands actually, a few small breaks here and there, but I have a lot of experience with that game. I'm also not talking about time played, but more so how a lot of the newer players can learned to be more accepting of other players coming in. Instead of constantly knocking the bridge down, and this doesnt solely apply to WoW, ofc, why not try to make more chances to look beyond things as *our MMO and their MMO* and look at the genre as a whole and how things can be learned from the past of those games, and how a lot of the varied ideas, nuances, and other aspects can be improved upon.A lot of this community came from WoW at its Zenith so yes we do know what we are talking about when it comes to making a great MMO and FF14 has learned those lessons. Agreed. I have been much in support that before LFG in latter half of WOTLK, the focus was not accelerating gear like mad and *rush rush rush* demand throwaway content, but even then I feel that attitude really took off in Legion and beyond.I feel we already have that actually. It was incentivized to even progress through BC to get raid gear before the WOTLK play to really have a much smoother transition.
