I got 90k'd at the very beginning of Sastasha with new players and had to wait in the login queue behind 2,000+ people.
I will not be running any of the longer roulettes with these issues, nope.

So this isn't a story so much as venting some frustration, but I've noticed an annoying trend in Crystal Tower Roulette where healers just... don't heal. Like, not a single healing spell, just tunnel vision dps on whatever is in front of them. I get that these raids are mind numbing beyond belief, but getting slowly killed every time I dare queue as a dps by wandering adds that no one bothers to pick up gets old after a while.
I tried speaking up today after dying yet again to a stray add and got nothing but inane garbage thrown back at me such as 'just don't die' and 'can't heal through one shots' (I did not get one shotted and rather watched my health dwindle down very slowly throughout the fight).
If you're not going to heal, don't queue as a healer.
End rant.
I feel like this has been going on for quite a long time. Definitely not a norm, but they existed. So this isn't a story so much as venting some frustration, but I've noticed an annoying trend in Crystal Tower Roulette where healers just... don't heal. Watched a group or two get destroyed in ST Scylla from being pelted by those multiple raidwides, LotA Behemoth electric field goes unchecked coupled with other additional hazards...
There are probably more, but those two are the only moments I could think of right now..
So, I get it when people are new to a dungeon, but for the LOVE OF GOD, LEARN TO READ! WHAT COULD POSSIBLY LEFT/RIGHT FIRAGA FORTE MEAN AFTER YOU GET HIT BY 2 OF THEM, WHY DO YOU THINK THE REST OF THE PARTY MOVES TO THE OTHER SIDE.
How the hell people make it to lvl 89 without the ability to read and yes, I expect that much from you at this level.
I love healing, I really do, but people make me want to just jump off the arena...
I mean, I don't disagree with any of this statement. As a healer main (and someone who tanks as her second-choice role), I feel you on this from both sides of the tank/healer divide. I'm just sort of resigned to "well, I can see how we got here, and we're probably going to be in this situation for a little while yet." So I choose to view it as a challenge.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

I think people just forget that it's the boss's left and right, not theirs. And since the boss is fixed in place and always faces the party, they have to basically do the opposite. So, I get it when people are new to a dungeon, but for the LOVE OF GOD, LEARN TO READ! Of course, I've also seen a few people who just try to ignore it and go hog on DPS instead of actually acknowledging the mechanics (and then get salty when they don't get raised immediately), so there's plenty of room for people just being bad, too.
3. tanks whose anti-party playstyle has been enabled by their friends/DF healers and never gotten corrected and are set in their ways now, maybe not even on purposeI think it's a combination of two separate things.
- Folks have gotten used to massively outgearing everything at the end of Shadowbringers; there are some tanks who have played fast and loose with mitigations without consequence there, and are discovering that behavior doesn't fly when the expansion is brand-new.
- There are a surprising number of inexperienced tanks who see "Tank in need" constantly across all roulettes and go "OKAY I'LL LEVEL A TANK THEN".
4. a**holes who knowingly do it, but know they will get enabled anyway
I'd argue those aren't situations new to Endwalker, so probably aren't a (direct) factor in why people feel like there's more tanks lately who aren't using mitigations. The fact that we don't wildly outgear most content, and also that suddenly all the roulettes are All Tank All The Time when it comes to adventurer in need bonuses, those are different than the situation as it stood before Endwalker released.

true, true, I completely read over the endwalker part of the quote and thought you two were talking about tanks in general lmaoI'd argue those aren't situations new to Endwalker, so probably aren't a (direct) factor in why people feel like there's more tanks lately who aren't using mitigations. Highlander women ftw! \o/I rly hate people who put their nose in other peoples glam and how they choose to play their character.
But I gotta say the low level of self-awareness from a guy today in roulette.
SAM in the full edgelord Rising Dragon PvP gear standing around posing with his backflipped sword and '' meditate sitting '' doing emotes etc gave our tank shit because her glam was a bikini.
At the start of the dungeon he was all like *Sigh*, and we went '' ? '' .
And he started going on about how '' generic '' it is and how '' every tank '' and it's '' so typical and cringe '' etc.
Like bro, self-awareness plz lol.
People who say this in 9 out of 10 times either wear a PLD or DRK Artifact set and act like '' I am so original I wear plate omg look at me '' or they have the most easy and common edgelord glams.
The attention seeking is really annoying and cringe, you're not unique or original because you wear full plate or do a Metal Gear/ Genji cosplay.
And these people never have anything that's actually even slightly imaginative going on and yet they want to act like the glam police.
Edit: Btw the Tank was really good, he was not.
Tank wall to wall pull, proper use of CD didn't stand in anything, even threw the SAM a shield ( DRK ) because he was screwing up and standing in AoE.
People can have whatever opinions they want but keep it to yourself nobody asked and it's none of your business.
Sometimes I get comments too about playing female Highlander and people acting like I am unique for it ( especially other Highlanders ).
I get that it's meant as a compliment, but I think people try a bit too hard and think that they're more unique than they actually are and that it makes them better than others.
I've played a Femroe and Elezen before too, I didn't play them to '' be unique '' I just played them because I liked them.
Just play what you like and leave others alone and don't act like you're better.
I had this in The Dead Ends but a PLD and he just liked to spam Clemency and didn't use sprint or any cd's but still double pulled.
Healer dies at last boss and as happy as he is throwing Clemency on himself he doesn't throw me ( BLM ) or the Reaper any at all and we die from unavoidable AoE.
The most idiotic thing which kinda speaks volumes for how overtuned Tanks are.
He almost killed the boss.
One of the worst Tanks I've seen and he still managed to almost solo the boss from around 40%.
