Stealing aggro'd mobs in a "kite" - do you think this is against ToS?

Well, I think I was there first, but that's an interesting comment. If a sole person was there first, do they have claim over the mobs or does the party? Or if the party was there first do they have sole claim over the mobs?

"I was here first" isn't an argument for/against anything. If someone rolls in and takes your spot and you are unable to hold your ground, then the mobs are theirs. There isn't any PvP or PK in this game so either walk away or fight for your spot until someone gives up.

They could be civilized and move on if they see you there (and some will), but make no mistake, nobody is being forced to be courteous.

@OP - Not that this settles the issue at hand, but there are like 3 diremite camps around Nophica's Wells. If it were the case that there was no alternative but for both groups to stay at the one place, then it's a free-for-all. Who can beat whom to the target first. Gladiator settles gathered/linked mass killings pretty easily. Just follow them after they've collected them all, Flash > Second Wind > War Drum > Cure. Hold them a few seconds for Flash CD, run to the opposite side and deaggro them. Flash the group again. You'll be amazingly annoying.

@DeadRiser - I shouldn't be so brash about it, but I have no qualms in disrupting a PL session.

To me, it's first come, first serve. If another player/group is already at a camp, for whatever reason, when I get there, I'll find another spot. If I'm there first, and someone tries to camp on top of me, I'll yell at them, and do what I can to make their lives miserable.

But as someone above me said, there is no stated rule. An unclaimed mob is unclaimed. This is just a courtesy that has extended way back into XI.

the tos has nothing about first come first server in it, thats just the polite thing to do though

also @Xoo going out of your way to mess with Plvl cuz you dont like it is griefing...the correct thing to do is ignore it and move on if you see it

May the faster puller win... At least thats what i say when im farming kara. Fleece and another farmer comes into "my" zone... They dont last much.. Cause i farm with archer lol

My question is: How many of these threads are we going to have to read after merge? If you can't hold your camp and someone refuses to kindly give it to you, call your LS to help you hold it. We're going to get to a point here in game where everything will be camped almost all the time, particularly things like Karakul fleece and Diremite web, Ahriman wings, bomb ash... etc etc.

Once the merger happens and the population triples (at least on my world it will) all camps will be camped all the time.

It's not like I go out and look to screw up somebody's day. But if I come upon one with my own group, I will take the camp. People that play the game > People that cheat.

This is a complaint as old as FFXI (probably older outside the FF context). You will see MANY of these threads over the coming years. And there will never be a solution because there isn't one outside of being the most persistent person(party) at the camp in question or walking away.

It's like Kenny Rogers says... "Know when to hold'em know when to fold'em"

There's a lot of mitelings in the camp with a decent respawn rate, so at least 2-3 parties currently could farm here. But with kiting/PLing as it is now, if parties get used to killing 8-10 at a time they're going to get really mad when they're "only" getting 2-4 at a time.
