I had several memorable runs since early access, but to avoid cluttering the post I’ll just pick one from many: Tower of Babil.

No first timer. Just a GNB, WHM, DNC (me), and one other melee DPS that I couldn’t recall which one exactly. WHM was a regen/cure/medicabot. Holy III does not exist. At least they were still willing to throw out some Dias. My heart as an observant healer main was desperately trying to ignore all these details in futile.

Fast forward to 2nd boss, WHM died very early into the encounter. I was expecting the party would just force a wipe to reset but that didn’t happen, so I sticked with them. I tried my best to abuse stacked curing waltz, flashing improvisation for a 500p regen, second wind, shield samba, and even pocket super potions that I kept handily available at all times. We pulled through without any wipe, and honestly it was such a fun ride.

While we’re waiting for the WHM to run all the way to the elevator, they typed: ”This feels like I’m not needed “

Today I had the most "stop following me" run in the last few months. Was running lvl85 dungeon on SCH, everything is good, but our melee (don't remember which one) seemed to be determent to get me killed.
Probably not intentional, but still irritating. We must be sharing a braincell or something.
Aoe on us? Let's run in one direction.
Safety bubbles? Let's steal the one on the far side from the healer despite 2 of them in close proximity.
Aoes and push back? Let's ride along the healer and overlap that.
Thankfully, I managed to adjust enough not to die, but man... I wish melee stopped following me everywhere.

Dead Ends is slaughtering everyone right now. It's crazy. I love this dungeon so much, but it breaks my heart to watch people die over and over.

I've never felt so helpless on PLD before.

"Well, both DPS are dead again. I guess I'll just do my tank thing and eat paint chips while the healer has an aneurysm."

Speaking of eating paint chips, I had a blonde moment in Halatali today where I was trying to be as fast as possible, but I misremembered the stuff about the winches. I was like, "a DPS can get them, right? They usually do, right?"

Because I thought the lightning sprites only spawned on the "wrong" winches. There was a lot going through my head, actually, and it was all mostly wrong. Oof. I barely get this dungeon!

The healer was a little passive aggressive. I ignored it. Oh well. If you read this, I was moving too fast and I misremembered everything! Sorry!

Dear PUG tanks:

Please use your tools and mitigation for your mass pulls. Last night I had one of you, a PLD, mass pull in Ravel while only using a grand total of 3 Ramparts, 4 Shelltrons and 2 Interventions the entire dungeon. Not a single Sentinel, Reprisal, FoF, or even Requiescat/Holy Circle were used for the entire run. And yes, the only time HG was used was on the last boss. Use your invuln for trash packs as they're most likely to eat you alive if you're not using cooldowns.

If your weaponskill chains include a dot, please use that on bosses too. It means you are less likely to die while I'm trying to keep your squishy butt alive.

the WHM arrogantly states "I said small pulls only."

I swear I don't know what happened to WHMs lately, but I have yet to have a good experience since EW dropped.

Most either don't know the bare basics of their kit and end up spamming Cure 1/2 with no attempt to use Tetra, Lilies, Assize, or even Benediction. Others will barely DPS on bosses or mobs, then screech at me when I ask them to contribute a little DPS during downtime. Still others have been healing anyone so much as getting a scratch. Yet more struggle even on forced single pulls, and can barely handle w2w...

And all of these in 80+ content.

A WHM a few days back that I got in my Expert (my SGE friend wasn't online at the time, so couldn't grab them for roulettes), I just... They maybe used 3 Lily-based heals the entire run. Lots of single-target Cure 3 usage, Cure 1 spam otherwise, CONSTANTLY applying Medica 2.

Literally, large mob pulls? Medica 2. Boss? Medica 2. Medica 2 falls off, instantly casts it again.

Wasted time on bosses healing barely 10% damage to health-- honestly, the fact they DPS'd at all was astounding to me, because they sure played like garbage in all other aspects. Pulls that should have gone super fast with my two DPS buddies dragged on, I was eating through mitigation far more than I should've been. I even had to heal myself through a Superbolide via Corundum and Aurora, because they just never hit Benediction at all. Also stood in most anything they could, and nearly died a couple times on the final boss in Smileton.

I want the good WHMs back from ShB's early months, please. ;_;

I had something similiar in expert roulette.
Got a tank that asked right at the start if I'd be okay with trying to pull more than one pack and I said that he can just go wall to wall on every pull. It went really well, he nailed his mitigation and I had so little to heal on Sage that I jokingly asked, if he even needs a healer.
He later told me when someone needed to afk real quick that he did this dungeon 5 times in a row this day and no matter which class the healer was, they weren't able to heal more than one pack, he even died to single pulls a few times and demanded small pulls or they'd leave.

I don't even know how it's possible to let a tank that mitigates well die on single pulls. You could probably heal single pulls with just Cure 1/ Physick/ Diagnosis/ Benefic 1 as his HoC/ Aurora takes care of most of the healing.
He was gushing over me the entire dungeon while I was just hammering Dyskrasia and thanked me profusely after the run and I felt it was so undeserved because all I did was throw out some oGCDs. He was really good. But someone hurt the poor thing.

How is that even possible... as a Sage, if the tank is doing small pull, you literaly dont have to heal him once if you keep dpsing... maybe once in a while press the healing buff but other than that, green dps 99% of the time

Most of the healers that I've seen struggling in my groups have been mostly playing sage. I'd say virtually all of the wipes I've seen have been with a sage healer. I actually don't think I've seen too many WHMs around in my groups. I've had a bunch of AST - that I notice when leveling DPS, and SCH. Even when I do the daily alliance raid I haven't seen too many. Really odd.

The first time I could have chalked it up to an accident, but despite bringing the enemies to you (as well as I could, there were poison puddles everywhere) you just. let them kill me. I could have been more proactive in healing myself instead of just you but I sort of assumed you'd notice at some point.

Good thing the SMN rezzed me so I was able to salvage the pull both times without any other deaths. But this plus the times you let the boss cleave us has me frowning.

I think he might have thought it was just me being bad and stepping in stuff I shouldn't have. Nnnnope.

Sounds like the tank was tunnel visioning. Still frustrating though, all it takes takes using your aoe to steal aggro back.
