so that mean gear lvl 40 with materia III have higher chance for success than gear for materia I ?

no what it means is this

level 1 gear + level 1 materia = low chance to meld
level 50 gear + level 1 meteria = higher chance to meld


its based on the gear level AND the materia level


basicaly speaking, the bigger the difference between the gear and materia level, the better chance to meld it(hence why people are using level 50 gear with level 1 materia for this achievment)

So its right to say if i try a Bloodthirst Materia TI 5 meld on Mahogany Patt, i have a chance arround 18-23% to get HP + 80 ?

Well sufficed to say that the chances are actually lower because you actually have to make it to meld4.

Meld Current Actual
1 100% (100%)
2 45% (45.0%)
3 33% (12.6%)
4 28% (4.2%)
5 23% (0.9%)

The whole process of a Meld 5 results in 0.9% So just under 1% chance that you will be successful in all 5 melds on any given item.

I need help please someone anyone!

I can't get anything above one or two materia melds. The vast majority of the time the second attempt always shows as 40% and will always break if attempted. The once in a blue moon the item will survive the third attempt is 20% and over the two months trying will not go further than this point.
I've been using level 50+ items to meld on all of my level 50 crafting classes using grade 1 materia. I've upgraded all my crafting gear to be maxed out on each job's specific stat needs including materia melded to tools and equipment. I seem to be absolutely overqualified for melding and yet am completely unsuccessful at it beyond my control. It's extremely frustrating trying to get this achievement especially when my friends have earned it on their second go without effort at all.

I don't understand why I cannot meld more than two materia ever.

It's all luck, hence the Gambler's Crown and luck-based names for the achievements. Strings of bad luck happen.
