I'm going to keep posting these until something changes. You can't fool me like you apparently have everyone else. You can get new servers if you wanted square, you're a resourceful company, don't lie to us and say you can't. This every night, running into this is literally getting ridiculous. This game will die if this keeps up, just letting you know, people will stop trusting you actually care eventually and then the game will die. Please, for the love of everything, stop being cheap, and pony up for the higher priced servers. You seriously have dropped the ball here.

Please rest assured that our Development/Operations teams will put everything into easing congestion and ensuring stable operations. Due to the shortage of semiconductors generated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we unfortunately cannot expect to add new Worlds immediately, but we will continue to take the best measures we can.

Oh yes, they did indeed drop the ball and from what Square Enix themselves admit it's not an impossible task to acquire more servers, just a matter of how much they are willing to spend if any at all. Shortage, not outage.

So New World gets a pass because they could use the vast AWS system that many have access to because the network is so huge , yet still gets its own log in issues and was made so hilariously poorly that its lost a vast amount of its playerbase

Yes yes it was , but you said somehow they managed to "buy new servers in this chip shortage" , they didn't buy shit . They are amazon , AWS already exists , its colossal .

If anyone buying server parts , that has too because they need more , unlikely in amazons case, but even then they are the largest contractor in the server business , if anyone were to need parts and get priority over anyone it would be Microsoft and Amazon.

The likes of EA , SE , Activision or any large gaming/entertainment business despite their large purchasing power are nothing compared to the trillion dollar buying power of Amazon but AWS is so big I doubt Amazon are sweating over getting parts to host New World.

new one here. Spent 1.75 hours in que until it became my time. Was logging in when I received a 10150 error. Went right into character select screen and am now 2700 in que. Guess SE didn't think I spent enough time waiting so I get to do another 2 hours.

This was a topic that was brought up during the launch of Shadowbringers, but it worked out fine due to the population at the time (not to mention no pandemic). Just so you know, the huge increase in players didn't happen until mid this year. It really would be considered a miracle to acquire servers to the capacity that some are demanding in such a short time. What they're likely looking for isn't going to be readily available in today's world, not with parts being in high demand for practically everything in modern society, much less server availability due to lack of materials. It's not a simple matter of ordering something online and then hoping it works when you get it. Even if supply wasn't the issue, there's a lot of grunt work in between, like negotiations with both corporate and service providers, legal analysis with the contract write ups, QA testing both remotely and in-person, etc. Then they can hope it works lol. Some of those things can be done pretty quickly, if they're good about it. It's Japan though, so speed and efficiency regarding paperwork is notoriously shit. Far worse than the west. Combine all the bad stuff and we have the situation players face today. Doesn't mean they can't get servers to endure higher capacities, it just means the time it'd take is so much worse.

You just seem to not understand what you are talking about. Neither in terms of game/software developments, not in server infracture and installation of new servers, nor about the scales of Amazon and its AWS infrastructure, even more so compared to SE.

Comparing SE to Amazon and its AWS is nuts. If it sounds weird because SE is making billions, then you need to understand how much bigger and more insanse AWS is. AWS runs (owns the servers that run) like at least 1/3rd of all the websites you see/use on the WHOLE GLOBAL internet.

Yes, Amazon spent setting up servers, because they were and ARE always setting up (expanding) their insane server infrastructure and server farms. They did not do for just 1 MMO release, lmao.

They host websites of any kind, services of any kind, Machine Learning processing, scientific work processing and etc. and etc.

Once they have such big infrastructure, they can then re-appropriate resources as they see fit and they definitely have more leverage in getting hardware components from one of the few manufacturers of server hardware that you can count on the fingers of your hand.

I'm really starting to question the validity of some of these claims posters have about their wait times in queue (barring getting kicked mind you).

I got kicked out of the game at 6:30pm PST about, and re-entered queue to 3,987. It's 8pm nearly, and there's 123 people ahead of me.

So an hour and a half is too much for people? (Again, keeping in mind, this is without getting booted out of the queue) Or is this a case of an hour and a half being your entire evening because you're mad you have to wait?

It was bad server capacity planning which was perhaps promoted by a laissez faire attitude towards Oceanic population trends.
Obviously that crap blew up with popularity soaring, at which point it was too late.

That said, the overall experience is pretty thrash. Fortunately, I WFH, but for many folks that do a 9-5 type of job, if you are central time, by the time you get home, there is easily a 3-4 hour wait time after 6, which absolutely ruins the experience.
I really do sympathize and support anyone writing macros to stay logged on, you shouldn't have to pay the price for terrible planning by the organization.

Dude stop the bullcrap, my server had 7k people queue today and i got kicked 3 times...The last one the game started giving me 2002 before i could rejoin the queue making me go to the last position AGAIN.
Don´t defend this mess!
