Endwalker's Hinted Mystery? What could it be that leads us into the new story?

Nekropolis. They just vanished, gone, no trace of who they were and why they died. That could be a mystery in of itself of what happened, especially if it started happening to other stars or was a threat to ours.

I love that you felt this way because by that point I was still distressed we could not act like we ate the food the Ea gave us as part of their ceremonial welcoming! Those post office boxes and the bar with the pots... they really felt familiar.

Maybe it is where all the houses you don't visit for 45 days go and just mesh into one another and become remnants of the lost, written-off housing stuff no one reclaims. The architecture looked so much like stuff from the moogle questing area in Dravania.

Thank you for keeping up the search for these guys. It is easy to forget about them entirely when everyone around you is disappearing too!!

Emet just basically gave us a laundry list of places we haven't been yet so while I would agree that it's likely we'll see at least some of those places, I don't know that I'd really call that much of a mystery.

The biggest thing that stuck out to me was definitely the missing dragon. To not only call out that the dragon didn't respond but to make it sound as if they had tried to contact it before but that it was "as always." The phrasing in that seemed a little too specific to me.

Lol and when you think about all the craziness we've been through already the potential is endless . I think the issue people are having is they've developed closeness to the scions etc but they're not dead and gone and think of all the new people and adventures to be had while maybe calling on their aid etc etc. There's an ocean of potential story telling in the world they've created here.

This was literally revealed as a mystery that even Meteion didn't know, we couldn't really deal with finding it out at that time since we had more pressing matters but...

If other worlds realized that Meiteion was coming, but she is limited by Dynamis in this universe, and yet there are other convenient parallel universe you can just pop over to that don't have a virus in the emotional dark matter - could they have dimension warped?

In FFXI, Dynamis was a parallel universe in an altered timeline where Dynamis Lord ruled. There was also Promyvions, which looked like a more washed out version of Ultima Thul in a lot of respects - scattered memories of the world of Vana'diel floating in the dark.

No matter what direction the story goes, I'd bet a million gil it's in another dimension. The 13th still is teetering on the brink of being consumed wholly by darkness, but it ran out of aether before the process could be completed. We may not be able to save those there with Alisae's methods.

I second that as well. I like the reference from Dynamis FFXI; and it could be a hint at what is to come!

Corvos is almost certainly some kind of 6.X patch content. Aside of the story links, it's been established as a new location with a range of scenery that can be built with existing assets: it's close to Thavnair, so its tropical lowlands can borrow from there, while the temperate regions have been recreated in Labyrinthos so they just need to copy that but out in the open and with different architecture. And then of course we have the Allagan ruins that the G tribe is (or was) protecting, which provide more potential scenery, a story hook and possibly a source for relic weapons.

Emet also referred to "the state of Mercydia" - we know that the Allagans ravaged that place, enslaved possibly hundreds of thousands of dragons, and who knows what is left of that civilization? That's likely 7.0 content though, since they tend not to add new zones with patches.

My guess is other, like you said, relic or perhaps island sanctuary? Both?

I like all these theories and bet we’ll touch on all of them in the coming expansions. The Giger-esque design in both the Void Ark and Fandaniel’s towers seems like a thread worth exploring. If we’re going to the Void to help repair it, the WOL (non-Azem WOLs) featured in the Void Ark (and Cylva from the last expansion) are probably all due for a story update.

My guess for an immediate clue from this expansion is Azem. They’ve been mentioned all over this expansion (and the one before) and if we’re wrapping (most of) the Ancients’ storyline, then some Azem content is probably on its way.

What is up with Cocoon just floating out there all nonchalantly out in Ultima Thule? Anyone who has played through Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2 should know how that ended. It fits right in with Meteion’s all worlds are dead theme... and Lightning has popped up in game “training” so all sorts of crazy can happen. Etro is the next logical step in this game. She is literally a gateway of death or a death god... i fully expect her to pop up now. Final Fantasy 14 is a sandbox game, and they have yet to fully utilize the 13 series and Fabula Nova Crystallis Lore.
