Calling this the worse launch is very much a hyperbole, it has issues but they are all located in the logging in process, once you are in and playing then everything runs very well. On my end the queue does seem much more stable the past two days, been able to join a queue and remain in it until logged in. The queue does seem to move much slower than before, but that's fine I can wait if I know I am eventually going to be able to log in. The frustration which it seems many people are still facing is not being able to actually stay in a queue or join one at all, it's just a gamble if they will be able to log in at all no matter how long they wait or often they try.

Square Enix just admit the servers are screwed or the client side functionality is trash but this 2002 stuff is not acceptable in 2021 and YOU CANNOT BLAME this on a chip shortage.

No other MMO developer on the planet has these type of disconnects while waiting in the queue and lets not pretend Classic WoW did not launch just 3 years ago or New World less than a few months ago.

We have recent example of this not happening with other game developers and they did not blame the chip shortage. Queues are whatever but disconnecting people for a 2002 error than resetting their queue position is a serious issue.

Have you ever played retail Warcraft anytime within the last seven years? 'Cuz this shit is a Tuesday (literally in Blizzard's case, because they only ever do patches and shit on Tuesdays). Fun fact, Shadowlands has been the only retail Warcraft expansion released where it wasn't a complete fucking dumpster fire for every single server. This is par the course for any MMO, and considering I'm a veteran of many MMOs, Square's issues with Endwalker have been really god damn tame in comparison. Wildstar... New World... Black Desert... Tera Online... Neverwinter... they've all experienced this sort of stuff, so you trying to claim that no other MMO has ever had these types of issues is a fucking lie, my dude. Pardon my language.

You "can" do anything you want, but you shouldn't. Everyone is dissatisfied about the situation. If it actually makes you mad at SE, then quit. If you're not willing to quit, then you're not actually mad.

If i could get a reimbourse of this expansion, pause my account for a mounth or two, without cancelling my account i would.. but i can't so i think i have to suck it up and stay quiet unfortunately..
For what i know if i ask a reimburse SE will delete my account and that would be too much even if, believe me, i was so angry in the past few days that i thought about it..

Nah 2002 errors are still getting confirmed by a lot of people on reddit, a bunch of discords etc, there was even like 5 or 6 servers with technical difficulties after the maintenance. Some people are also randomly getting 90ked.

Some of the US ISP nodes are still very very bad.

I had a 90006 error yesterday, out of the blue. Guess what? It was my local internet having a temporarily heart attack. Every device in the house went down for a minute. SE can't do anything about that. Took me only 30 minutes to get back in the game , thankfully, since it happened around 4PM. I went and made dinner while I waited.

Legion, BfA and Shadowlands all had overall pretty smooth launches after the disaster Warlords of Draenor was with massive queues - but contrary to Endwalker, the WoD queues were functional and didn't throw you out with a huge variety of errors just to be put back at the ends. (Yea. WoD had several ingame issues that prevented progress, while EW has none of them)

FFXIVs login queues are amateur level at best. Riddles with different errors codes that have you disconnect from the game, while at the same time offering no protection to disconnects for the queue/ingame. If you expect long queues, said queue should provide this functionality. And i'd argue a lot of frustration stems from the horrible queue experience, not the length of the queue.

For what it's worth, I do think a pause function on the subscription would be pretty awesome and would be great for a situation like this.

As of last quarter (September 2021), their net income from games is down by 10%, from all MMOs is up 32%, and income from mobile games is down 2%. MMOs only account for about 21% of sales for the Digital Entertainment group, so yeah, the MMO front is looking better, but it is not the powerhouse some people seem to think it is, just as Activision sales have never been only based on World of Warcraft.

About the only thing I'm really not enchanted with is SE's entrance into the NFT block-chain market.

Could they afford a month's subscription to every current subscriber? Probably. You could purchase a Fantasia to turn into a Bunny Boi with that much money. As it is, they've already granted 1/4 of that amount through extended time. Once everyone who could get on has maxed out all their jobs to 90, things will die down quickly, as we're still 10 days from the first raid tier.

If you're that dedicated, I understand that the hours between 4 am and 9 am (US/Central) are prime for logging in with little or no wait in the queues. I expect populations to decrease in datacenters on the Pacific Rim as the Oceania data center comes up early next year.

It's about 250 million dollars US, vs. a net sales income of 2.5 billion dollars US. It took them 4 years to recoup losses from 2011 and 2013.
